0:00
welcome back everyone today we are going
0:03
to make Mexican stuffed pasta shells and
0:07
we are using these very big jumbo shells
0:10
to make these we're going to put our
0:12
delicious flavored ground beef and other
0:15
ingredients it gives it kind of a taco
0:18
flare put them into these shells oh it's
0:20
going to be delicious y'all ready we're
0:22
going to go back here I'm going to show
0:24
you how we're going to cook our shells
0:26
now to bring your water to a boil faster
0:31
to the boiling water I'm going to add
0:33
about half a tablespoon of salt this
0:36
will help flavor our pasta
0:43
shells now these are what I'm using
0:45
right here this is a 12 oz box of jumbo
0:49
shells you're going to need about 20 to
0:54
shells well that's what they look like
0:56
they almost fit into the palm of your
1:00
so we're going to place these
1:02
in just going to hook the whole
1:08
box now what I'm going to do is cook
1:10
these per the directions on the back of
1:12
the box for all Dente it takes about 14
1:16
15 minutes that'll give us time to get
1:20
together give these a stir for just
1:22
about 30 seconds that'll keep them from
1:25
sticking once these are done what we'll
1:28
do is drain them and then run them under
1:30
some cold water that way we can manage
1:33
these easier to get the mixture inside
1:39
them okay I've put 1 tablespoon of
1:41
butter into the bottom of a large
1:43
Skillet going to put it on medium high
1:45
heat and we're going to start melting
1:48
that and while that's happening we're
1:50
going to take a mediumsized yellow onion
1:52
and we're going to dice it
1:54
down we can take off both ends
2:01
we're going to take off that outer
2:10
layer and pass it off to my
2:16
husband we're going to cut it in half
2:19
lay it down I'm going to run my knife
2:22
through the lines of the onion just kind
2:30
if I had other things to chop I'd be
2:32
bringing over my Chopper but this is
2:39
sideways run my knife
2:41
through and there's our
2:44
dices tuck your fingers
2:52
go okay we got our butter nice and
2:58
here let's go ahead and add our
3:12
onion we're going to soften these onions
3:17
minutes okay look at how soft those
3:19
onions are they got a little golden
3:21
brown tint to them we're going to add in
3:24
one pound of ground beef
3:34
Chopper all right let's break it up
3:37
we're going to cook this until the
3:38
ground beef is no longer pink cook
3:44
through my jumbo pasta shells are
3:47
finished cooking I went ahead and
3:49
drained them and I ran cold water over
3:51
them until I can touch them very easily
3:54
my ground beef is nice and browned up I
3:57
did drain off any excess grease out of
3:59
the there so can go ahead and do that
4:01
and then we're going to add these
4:03
delicious ingredients so come on down
4:05
here you guys I've got a 16 oz jar of
4:08
some salsa we're using the pecante
4:11
because we like it it's a medium flavor
4:13
it does come in mild also or you can get
4:17
hot there we go I'm going to be using
4:22
here we're going to save the rest for
4:25
later part of the recipe let's
4:28
see a little bit more there we go
4:30
perfect so we'll save
4:33
that get that mixed in we're going to
4:38
seasoning you can either use one packet
4:40
that you can get from your store or
4:42
three tablespoons if it comes in the big
4:44
container or if you have your homemade
4:46
blend which I do right here look at that
4:50
goodoo smells delicious you would use
4:53
three tablespoons of that you can find
4:56
my taco blend on my website C plates.com
5:01
it's called big batch taco
5:03
seasoning think I had this on the there
5:07
go and then you can adjust to your taste
5:11
if you want to do that and what I like
5:14
to do when I have my own taco seasoning
5:16
there is add a little bit of salt that
5:18
way I can control it when I make my
5:21
seasoning blend here I can add it as I
5:23
need it and I know I'm going to need
5:27
teaspoon woo that lid went everywhere
5:31
okay we're going to add in one whole can
5:33
I've drained it of whole kernel corn is
5:40
oz and then we're going to add
5:42
in half a cup of shredded this is a
5:49
blend we're going to stir this all
5:54
together we want to get that cheese nice
5:58
melted going to stir it for like one
6:02
minute I'm going to close up my lid here
6:06
so I don't fling anything in
6:10
there it's a kitchen it can
6:12
happen now the cheese will help keep
6:17
together when we make our little stuffed
6:21
shells oh it smells delicious make sure
6:23
you grab a spoon give it a taste see if
6:25
you need to adjust any other flavorings
6:28
or seasonings because that's it you guys
6:32
I'm going to turn off the
6:36
burner there we go that's why you need
6:38
help in the kitchen all right I'm going
6:40
to give that a little
6:50
that all right let's stuff some
6:53
shells we're going to take the rest of
6:56
the bante sauce or your salsa from the
6:59
jar put it into the bottom of our baking
7:09
by3 we're going to give it a shake shake
7:12
shake get down to the
7:15
corners we don't want our jumbo shells
7:19
stick kind of go down the sides a little
7:23
bit up on the sides there there we go
7:30
we're going to take one of our jumbo
7:32
shells here they're nice and easy to
7:35
handle I'm just going to kind of unwind
7:39
tablespoon and we're going to put it
7:41
right into the center of
7:44
it and probably another half
7:47
there all right what we're going to do
7:49
is place it into our baking
7:54
dish and then we're just going to keep
8:10
how fun are these going to be just about
8:21
half all right I'm going start squeezing
8:25
bit so my baking dish here made8
8:30
of the stuffed jumbo shells now I have
8:33
some extra meat mixture here and then I
8:37
shells some of them were kind of broken
8:39
and were're hard to put together but you
8:40
can cut these up and add them to the
8:42
mixture here and then just kind of
8:43
freeze it and have it for you know a
8:45
meal another day or you can put these in
8:48
flour tortillas you know if you want to
8:50
keep the mixture separate from the pasta
8:52
whatever you do that's fine I'm going to
8:54
take a little bit of some salsa from
8:57
jar and I'm just going to driz over the
9:03
bit it'll go down the sides of
9:06
them and then we're going to take some
9:08
cheese sprinkle all on top more of the
9:19
blend woo these are going to be good how
9:23
fun is this like cross between an
9:26
Italian and Mexican dish I guess
9:29
so we're going to place this in the oven
9:32
that I've got preheated at
9:34
350° it's only going to take about 15 to
9:37
20 minutes to heat everything through
9:39
and get that cheese nice and bubbly and
9:42
melted I'll be back we're going to top
9:44
this with a garnish we're going to give
9:53
oh all right let's garnish them up I got
9:56
some green onions that I've sliced
9:57
they're going to go right on the top
10:02
now you can eat these with like sour
10:03
cream to dip them in if you want to do
10:09
right I'm going to serve these up I've
10:12
got a nice Caesar salad here that I've
10:15
together look at those I cannot wait got
10:25
Fork let's do it like that there we go m
10:41
bite wow they're like little pockets the
10:45
jumbo shells holding that delicious
10:47
Mexican taco flavored mixture wow that's
10:51
good you guys serve it up with your
10:53
favorite side whatever you want to do
10:55
that's fine all right give me a thumbs
11:00
woo that Pan's hot kidding oh my
11:06
