Hello everyone and welcome back. Today
0:02
we are going to make a delicious easy
0:05
dinner idea your family is going to
0:08
love. It's going to be creamy. It's
0:10
going to be cheesy. It is a chicken and
0:12
torillini bake. This is so easy to put
0:16
together. I'm even going to be using a
0:18
rotisserie chicken to make it even
0:21
faster. Now, I've got water boiling on
0:24
the back burner back there. We're going
0:26
to season it with some salt. And then
0:28
we're going to add in some tortoillini.
0:31
Now, you don't have to use torillini for
0:33
this recipe. You can use any type of
0:35
pasta. You're just going to make sure
0:36
that you cook it per the directions on
0:38
the back of the package and some salted
0:40
water. That way, it flavors your pasta.
0:44
And then you'll just drain it and set it
0:46
aside till we're ready for it. All
0:48
right, you guys. What? I got
0:50
refrigerated pasta. It only takes 2
0:52
minutes in boiling water to cook. So,
0:55
we'll be making this. All right, let's
0:58
go to the back burn burger.
1:00
Grab some salt. Now, I always put a lid
1:03
on because it brings the water to a boil
1:05
faster.
1:07
Put in about half a tablespoon of salt.
1:11
We got to flavor that pasta. Now, the
1:14
torillini that I am using is this one
1:17
right here by Priano. It's an herbed
1:19
chicken torillini. And we are using 1
1:22
and a4 pounds of the pasta today.
1:26
We're going to cut that open and pour
1:28
them in. Now, these are chicken filled
1:32
tortillini.
1:36
Watch that hot water.
1:40
All right, we're going to let those cook
1:41
for 2 minutes, give them a check, and
1:43
then we'll drain them, and then we'll
1:44
start the rest of the recipe. Now, if
1:46
you are using any other type of pasta,
1:48
and on the back of the package, it says
1:50
anywhere between 8 to 14 minutes to
1:53
cook. That's how long you're going to
1:54
cook it for. Okay? So you you can get
1:56
started on the rest of the recipe while
1:58
you're waiting for that pasta to cook.
2:01
But this is really fast and you find
2:03
these in the refrigerated section of
2:05
your grocery store. And you can get the
2:08
cheese torillini or this one here, which
2:11
is the herb chicken torillini. I picked
2:13
this up at Aldi.
2:20
All right, we're going to add the
2:21
drained pasta back to our pan.
2:27
Now, since these cook pretty fast and we
2:29
still got the sauce to make, I am going
2:31
to take a little bit of some oil, very
2:34
little,
2:36
and then we'll coat that very well.
2:38
That'll keep the pasta from sticking
2:40
while we're waiting for it.
2:42
Now, as you're cooking your pasta, make
2:44
sure you cook it al dente cuz it will
2:46
finish cooking in the oven.
2:49
Let's make that delicious sauce. Now,
2:50
I'm just in a regular size skillet and
2:53
I'm going to put it on a mediumigh heat.
2:58
I'm going to melt in four tablespoon of
3:01
butter.
3:04
We're going to make a rue. It's really
3:07
simple.
3:09
I would rather make a rue than use like
3:12
cream of chicken soup. So, that's what
3:14
we're going to do. So, we're going to
3:15
melt that.
3:18
Now, I'm making this dish
3:20
for Joseph, Megan,
3:23
that's my son and his wife.
3:27
And then also, I'm going to be splitting
3:30
this with them and then giving some to
3:32
Rihanna
3:34
and her boyfriend Chris. They're
3:36
celebrating their one year togetherness
3:40
this weekend. So, I'm going to be giving
3:43
them some of this to share
3:47
because, you know, this is reminiscent
3:49
of a marry me chicken and pasta, which I
3:52
have that recipe on my line, but I feel
3:54
like this is very close to it. So, we're
3:56
going to add in 3 tablespoon of
4:00
allpurpose flour.
4:04
And I think I need one more.
4:08
And then I'm going to add in
4:11
one teaspoon of minced garlic. We're
4:14
going to start building the flavors in
4:15
here. And I'm just going to take my
4:17
whisk, blend this together for 1 minute.
4:22
Yeah, you saw me earlier. Well, you
4:25
didn't see me earlier, but earlier I
4:26
made some ribs in the crock pot and
4:29
they're cooking away right now and
4:31
they're not allowed to leave the house.
4:33
So,
4:35
as I'm making this for the kids who are
4:37
outside the house, they will not be any
4:39
ribs. Those are definitely for Thomas.
4:43
All right, we're doing this to cook the
4:45
rawness out of the flour. You want to
4:47
make sure you do this step and it adds
4:50
color to our dish also.
4:54
All right. Now, what we're going to do
4:56
is add in 16 oz of heavy whipping cream.
5:01
Or you can use half and half. You can
5:03
use regular milk, whatever you got. And
5:06
we'll slowly whisk that in.
5:11
Just continually
5:13
blend that together
5:18
slowly. Slowly just incorporate the
5:21
flour into the whipping cream here.
5:25
It's going to help make that delicious
5:27
thick creamy sauce.
5:36
There we go.
5:38
Yep. Do that, too.
5:41
All right. Let me go rinse that off.
5:45
Got 5 oz of Parmesan cheese that's
5:48
shredded. I'm going to add that right on
5:50
top.
5:53
We're going to add in one cup chicken
5:56
broth.
5:59
And we're going to season
6:02
black pepper, garlic powder. We're going
6:06
to enhance the garlic that's in there,
6:08
onion powder. I didn't chop up an onion,
6:11
so we're going to add the onion in
6:12
there. Get some flavor of that and liven
6:15
up those flavors and the colors. We're
6:17
going to add in smoked paprika.
6:22
Then we're going to stir this all
6:23
together till that cheese melts.
6:26
Now, we're going to let this simmer.
6:31
while we get some other things ready for
6:32
it.
6:35
Where's my grater? There we go.
6:40
All right. I'm going to grate in about 4
6:42
ounces of mozzarella cheese into my
6:44
mixture here while it's simmering.
6:49
Be asking where my grater is. I know,
6:51
right? I'm using my other grater now.
6:54
And we'll use the other half of it for
6:55
the top of the casserole.
6:58
Oh, that sauce looks delicious.
7:02
Can y'all see that? I got little bits of
7:04
cheese flying everywhere and my dog is
7:06
at it right now.
7:09
Let's stir that in. Oh yeah. Turn down
7:12
your heat to like a medium low.
7:16
There we go.
7:18
We don't want to scorch anything.
7:24
Look how thick that is. Oh my.
7:27
See that cheese?
7:30
Did you see that cheese?
7:35
All right. You're probably wondering
7:37
where is the chicken?
7:40
Here's my rotisserie chicken.
7:43
Let's chop it up. There's flavor right
7:46
there, you guys. If you don't have a
7:48
rotisserie chicken or don't want to use
7:49
one, then you can boil up your chicken.
7:51
You can roast up your chicken. You can
7:53
put it in the crock pot, cook it that
7:54
way. the the day before, whichever way,
7:56
just flavor it up good. And then we're
7:58
going to chop that up into tiny pieces.
8:01
All right, we got our drained pasta, the
8:03
tortillini, and what I'm going to do is
8:06
add the sauce to it.
8:08
We're going to add two cups of fresh
8:11
spinach going in. We're going to add in
8:15
the cooked chicken that I diced up.
8:18
About three cups if you're using a
8:20
different type of chicken. Make sure
8:22
it's cooked. To give it some more color
8:24
and more veggies in there, I'm going to
8:26
be using some roasted red peppers.
8:31
These will add a nice color to it. And I
8:34
love the roasted peppers cuz they got a
8:36
nice flavor. We're going to keep going
8:38
here.
8:40
About half a jar. And this was 12 oz.
8:44
So, I put about 6 ounces in there. Let's
8:46
mix this all together.
8:52
And once that sauce was done, I got a
8:54
spoon and tasted it. Y'all missed that
8:56
step, but was there. If you need to
8:59
adjust your seasonings, you can at that
9:01
time, y'all. Look how creamy that looks.
9:04
Look at this. We're not done yet. Let's
9:07
get a baking dish. 9 by13.
9:09
We're going to butter our baking dish.
9:11
Now, I just pull one of these out of my
9:13
freezer. I save these every time I use a
9:15
stick of butter. That way we can butter
9:17
baking dishes and things like that. So,
9:20
we're going to butter it really well.
9:22
That way, that casserole will come out
9:24
really easily. Or if you just want to
9:27
spray it with some non-stick cooking
9:29
spray, you can do that also.
9:31
Now, we're going to add our mixture into
9:34
the baking dish. Oh,
9:38
everybody will come home for this one.
9:42
All right, smooth it out. All
9:47
right, I'm going to go grab my
9:49
mozzarella cheese. Yeah, we're not done
9:52
with the cheese yet.
9:56
We want to have a nice golden brown
9:59
color on the top of our casserole here
10:02
with the cheese. More peppers on top
10:04
just to kind of fill in the colors
10:06
there. Some cracked black pepper.
10:12
All right, we're going to bake this in
10:14
the oven that's been preheated at 350°
10:17
for 15 minutes. I'm going to raise the
10:20
temperature up to about 500 or you could
10:23
put it on broil and get it for another
10:25
five minutes to get that nice and golden
10:27
brown. I'll be back. Okay, you guys,
10:30
look at this.
10:33
That looks amazing. I definitely want to
10:36
eat this. Should the kids get any? I
10:39
don't know.
10:41
I got a bowl and I'm going to give a try
10:43
for you. So, I'm going to get some of
10:45
this delicious creamy cheesy chicken
10:49
torillini bake.
10:52
Oo,
10:55
look at that.
11:00
Let me grab a fork and give that a try
11:02
for you.
11:15
I love that little burst from those
11:17
roasted red bell peppers. M. Those are
11:20
good.
11:24
I like how mellow this is, how creamy it
11:27
is, cheesy it is. It hides some veggies
11:31
in there.
11:34
The spinach, the chicken fully cooked in
11:37
there. Oh my goodness. You guys, this is
11:40
topnotch.
11:41
It's really easy to put together. I'm
11:44
telling you, you better have everything
11:45
ready before you put this one together
11:47
because it comes together pretty quick
11:48
and then just bakes in the oven, right?
11:50
All right, that's the chicken. Mhm.
11:54
Nice and tender. Has all that flavor all
11:57
through it.
12:01
All right, who's making this one? All
12:03
right, you guys, give me a thumbs up on
12:05
this one. If you're new to the channel,

12:22
episode. I gotta divvy this up. Bye.
