Welcome back everyone. Today we are
0:02
making crock pot pork chops, apples, and
0:07
stuffing. Doesn't that sound like the
0:10
perfect way to start fall with in your
0:13
slow cooker?
0:15
Here's my Granny Smith apples. Okay, but
0:18
first thing we need to do is we're going
0:20
to sear up our pork chops to get them
0:22
nice and tender, flavorful, and lock in
0:25
those juices. So, you're going to take
0:27
your pork chops, whatever pork chops
0:29
you're using. Now, mine are about half
0:31
inch thick, and they're boneless. And
0:33
these are the center cut from the pork
0:35
loin. And we're going to salt.
0:40
[Applause]
0:44
And we're going to put some black pepper
0:46
across them.
0:51
We're going to place some garlic powder.
0:52
We're going to do one side. And then as
0:55
we put them into the pan to cook, we'll
0:57
do the other side. And some onion
1:00
powder. All right, let's add some oil to
1:02
a large skillet. We're going to put this
1:05
on a medium high heat and get this nice
1:07
and hot. I got about 2 tablespoons of
1:10
oil going in. Now, once your oil starts
1:13
simmering, we're going to add our pork
1:14
chop, seasoning side down.
1:20
I'm going to try to get all of these in
1:22
there. Now, if you can't get them all in
1:24
there, you can do these in two batches,
1:27
but I think we got it. We're looking to
1:29
get these nice and golden brown on the
1:31
bottom side. Now, we're going to season
1:34
this side. Some salt,
1:37
black pepper.
1:39
If you don't want to do this step, you
1:41
don't have to do this step. You don't
1:42
have to sear them at all, but why would
1:44
you not want to? It'll give it a nice
1:47
color. They'll lock in these seasonings.
1:50
They'll be nice and tender. Got garlic
1:53
powder going right across the top. And
1:56
some onion powder. I want these to look
1:59
nice.
2:02
There we go. Give them a few minutes and
2:04
we'll flip them over. Now, while the
2:06
pork chops are searing, I am going to
2:09
bring you over here to the celery and
2:12
the onion and the apple that I'm going
2:13
to be chopping up. Now, I'm just taking
2:16
half of the base of the celery here.
2:19
I've already rinsed it off. I'm just
2:20
going to run my knife through it.
2:23
Get nice size pieces.
2:26
Cutting through that flower part, too,
2:28
on the inside.
2:30
Oh, those pork chops. I'm telling you,
2:32
when you start searing pork chops, you
2:34
know it's fall.
2:36
I love to bring out pork chop recipes
2:38
for the fall. I think that's plenty
2:41
right there.
2:42
We are going to be adding some celery
2:44
soup later to this dish also. Perfect.
2:47
Put that off to the side. We're going to
2:49
take a large onion. Now, I don't make
2:51
any dish unless there's an onion in it
2:53
somewhere.
2:54
So, I've got a large yellow onion. I'm
2:56
going to take off both ends, the outer
2:58
layer. I'm going to cut the onion in
3:01
half. And then I'm just going to chop it
3:02
up. Pretty big pieces, decent size,
3:05
because it'll melt inside of here.
3:11
There we go. You know who's in the
3:13
kitchen.
3:16
All right, let's cut it in half.
3:20
I'm just going to run my knife through
3:22
pretty big slices here.
3:27
There we go. These will melt down.
3:32
Let's check those pork chops.
3:36
Woo! Look at that. You're not getting
3:38
that. You need to wait.
3:42
We'll get the other side now.
3:45
All right, we'll give them a few more
3:46
minutes on this side. We'll finish the
3:48
apples.
3:50
Okay, we've got two Granny Smith apples.
3:52
Now, if you want to use red apples, you
3:54
can do that also.
3:56
These add a nice tartness to the dish.
4:00
I'm going to take off
4:02
the four sides of the apple here.
4:06
And then Thomas will eat the core later,
4:09
or I should say around the core. Right.
4:13
There we go. I know it.
4:15
And what we're going to do is just take
4:16
it and just cut it into bite-sized
4:18
pieces. And these will get nice and
4:20
soft.
4:23
Nice and juicy.
4:24
Nice and juicy. Those pork chops are
4:27
smelling delicious.
4:30
Now, we're going to do to the vegetables
4:32
here and the apples like what we did to
4:34
the pork chops. Yeah. We're going to add
4:38
some color to this. Do the last apple
4:41
here. There we go. Pass it on. Here we
4:45
go. These will soften considerably.
4:48
We're going to leave them on the skin so
4:49
they don't disappear.
4:53
If you want to take the skins off of the
4:54
apples, you can. We're going to go check
4:57
our pork chops. I'm going to pull them
4:58
out of the pan and we're going to add
5:01
all of this. All right, let's see what
5:04
we got. Yeah, there's some color to
5:06
them. I'm going to give them one more
5:07
minute.
5:09
All right, let's remove them.
5:13
Now, once we get these all out, I'm
5:14
going to add a little bit of extra oil
5:16
to the pan.
5:19
Woo! Look at that. Yeah.
5:26
Woo.
5:30
All right. Now, what you do to one, you
5:32
got to do to the other. So, we're going
5:34
to season the same way. Little bit of
5:36
salt, cracked black pepper, garlic
5:39
powder, onion powder. I'm going to sear
5:42
these for just about two to three
5:44
minutes.
5:46
Want to get some color on it. All right,
5:49
I'm going to take some cooking oil and
5:51
I'm just going to spray the inside of
5:52
the crock pot
5:55
and keep everything from sticking
5:56
because we're going to have some
5:57
stuffing go in there. We don't want them
5:58
sticking to the sides of our dish.
6:00
There. Doesn't that look like fall in
6:03
there? It not only looks like fall, but
6:05
it smells like fall. I'm going to go
6:08
ahead and turn this off now and let's
6:10
start layering in our crock pot. Now,
6:13
I'm going to place half of our apples,
6:16
onions, and celery into the bottom of
6:18
our crock pot that we've already
6:21
prepared.
6:23
What a nice little bed down there the
6:25
pork chops to lay on. There we go.
6:30
Y'all see in there? Yep. That's what
6:32
we're looking for right there. Now,
6:34
let's place all the pork chops on top.
6:38
And these will get nice and tender in
6:40
the crock pot.
6:43
Don't forget all the juices.
6:48
All right, we're going to take the rest
6:50
of the apple, celery, and onions and
6:52
pour it right on top. Nice layer.
6:56
We'll just smooth it out.
7:00
All right, we're going to need two cans
7:01
of cream of soup. Now, I'm going to be
7:04
using the celery soup. That'll make it
7:06
smell like fall. You can use cream of
7:08
chicken
7:10
if you want to do that. If you want to
7:12
do a cream of mushroom soup, you can do
7:14
that. Or you can mix and match. If you
7:16
want to do a cream of mushroom, a cream
7:18
of celery, these are the 10 oz cans, two
7:21
of them.
7:23
And then we're going to add in one can.
7:26
I'm just going to fill it up with some
7:28
chicken broth. Get that all stirred.
7:35
I'm just going to grab a whisk, blend
7:36
this together,
7:38
and then we're going to pour this on top
7:41
of the pork chops, apples, celery, and
7:45
onions. Now, if you want to season this
7:47
layer, that's fine. I think I got enough
7:50
seasonings in there. I'm not going to
7:51
worry about it. All right, let's bring
7:52
it over.
7:54
And we're going to pour it all on top.
8:03
That'll make a nice gravy, too. Make
8:06
sure it's nice and evenly spread out.
8:09
All right, let's get that stuffing.
8:12
In a medium bowl, you want to make sure
8:14
it's microwave safe. I melted 3
8:16
tablespoon of butter. To that, we're
8:18
going to add one package of stove top
8:21
stuffing mix. Now, I'm using the
8:23
cornbread. You can use whatever flavor
8:25
you like. This is the 6 oz box.
8:32
And then we're going to add one cup of
8:34
chicken broth.
8:37
Help get those bread crumbs
8:40
moistened up.
8:44
That looks about right.
8:46
You need to add more. Add more. Oh my
8:48
gosh, you guys. It's starting to smell
8:49
like the holidays in here. We're getting
8:51
close, huh?
8:54
We're definitely getting close to the
8:56
holidays. Add a little bit more.
9:00
All right. Once we get this all
9:01
moistened,
9:03
we're going to add it to our crock pot
9:05
on top of the cream of soup mixture.
9:10
Just going to sprinkle it all on top.
9:17
Oo, you excited? I'm going to spread
9:20
that out just a little bit.
9:22
Leave it just on top. Don't mix it in.
9:25
Okay, we're going to place the lid on
9:27
it. All right, we're going to cook this
9:29
on high approximately 4 hours or you can
9:32
cook it on low for 6 hours. Now, this is
9:35
all going to depend on the size of your
9:38
pork chops and how tender you want them.
9:42
All right, you guys. We'll come back.
9:43
I'm going to show you the finished
9:44
product. Our house is going to smell
9:46
amazing. Okay, you guys, look at that.
9:50
my crockot, pork chops, apples, and
9:54
stuffing. It's a slow cooker recipe for
9:57
the fall. It smells delicious. I let it
10:00
rest for about 20 minutes to kind of
10:02
pull itself all together.
10:05
We got the spoon.
10:08
Let's go in. Oh,
10:13
let's plate this up. Doesn't that bowl
10:16
up beautiful?
10:21
Yeah, look at that pork chop, those
10:24
apples. It's going to add a nice little
10:26
sweetness to it. Got the stuffing and
10:30
that soup mixture. All right, here's my
10:32
bite.
10:34
Oh my gosh, that is so delicious.
10:38
Thomas already came by and had a pork
10:40
chop out of the crock pot, you guys.
10:43
Why do you got to tell on me?
10:45
I know. That's what's left right here.
10:47
Oh my goodness, you guys. Oh, if you
10:51
want to put another apple in there, you
10:52
go and do that.
10:55
All right, you guys. Oh,
10:58
y'all give me a thumbs up on this one.
