Grab you two packs of sugar cookie dough
0:04
from your refrigerator section of your
0:06
store. We are going to make a delicious
0:10
fruit cookie pizza with this.
0:14
I've made this many, many, many years
0:16
ago for you guys
0:19
and y'all loved it. I'm going to bring
0:21
it back because Mother's Day is right
0:23
around the corner and who would not want
0:26
to make this for their mother, let me
0:28
tell you.
0:30
It's a fun dessert. The many different
0:33
ways that you can decorate this will be
0:36
like totally fun for you, the kids,
0:39
anybody, right? So, this is sugar cookie
0:42
dough and we're using two of them. And
0:45
each one of these is 16 oz each. So,
0:50
we're making a big pie here. And
0:55
I'm going to measure this out for you.
0:57
It's 16 in round.
1:02
And if you don't have a round one, you
1:04
can even use a rectangular shaped one
1:05
also. Or you can make this smaller and
1:08
just use one pack of cookie dough.
1:11
Now, I'm just taking them both out of
1:13
the package.
1:15
And what I did was I pulled it out of
1:17
the refrigerator and let it sit on the
1:18
countertop for a little bit till I got
1:20
everything ready, including myself.
1:25
Now, our cookie dough is soft and what
1:27
I'm going to do is just kind of cut it
1:29
into rounds and place it around
1:33
around the round.
1:36
That way, it'll be easier to get all
1:38
this into one even layer.
1:42
Now, I am not greasing my sheetpan here.
1:45
Now, once you get it all cut up, wash
1:48
your hands. And then what you want to do
1:51
is mash down on the cookie dough. So,
1:53
this is going to be like the pizza
1:55
dough.
1:57
Family will really have fun making this
2:00
one.
2:02
Now, the trick is not to mash it too
2:04
much, okay? It'll get very sticky on
2:06
you.
2:08
So, work fast and just get your single
2:10
layer. Just like that. All right. What
2:13
you want to do is place this in your
2:15
oven. I have it preheated at 350°.
2:19
This will take about 14 minutes. You
2:22
want to give it a check beforehand and
2:24
make sure that it's not getting too
2:26
brown around the edges, but you want
2:28
your cookie to be completely cooked
2:31
through. All right, we're going to take
2:33
it out of the oven and then we're going
2:34
to cool this down completely
2:37
before we start the next layer. It's
2:40
nice and baked through. Nice and kind of
2:42
golden brown on the top and kind of
2:44
crispy on the edges. I've cooled it down
2:47
completely. Even you can feel it on the
2:49
bottom there. We're going to set this
2:51
off to the side and let's make the
2:53
frosting. We got a few layers to do.
2:58
We need a thick creamy frosting to hold
3:01
all that fruit that we're going to put
3:02
onto this fruit cookie pie, y'all. Then
3:05
we got another layer to put on top of
3:08
the fruit. So stay tuned for that one.
3:10
Now I've brought two 8 oz packages of
3:13
cream cheese to room temperature,
3:16
nice and squishy.
3:18
that way we can work with it.
3:22
So, y'all come on up.
3:28
There we go. One
3:33
and two.
3:36
Now, I'm going to take my electric hand
3:38
mixer. I'm going to blend this until
3:40
it's nice and creamy somewhat before we
3:42
finish it up.
3:46
All right. Once you get it somewhat
3:48
creamy, we're going to add in
3:51
half a cup of powdered sugar.
4:00
>> Bless you.
4:01
>> That's Bailey down there. Got something
4:02
up her nose.
4:05
And we're going to add in a teaspoon of
4:07
vanilla. Give it some flavor.
4:10
We go. Then we'll whip that all
4:13
together.
4:17
Grab you a spatula and you can start
4:18
pulling down the sides as you go.
4:30
All right, that looks really nice and
4:32
creamy and all combined.
4:36
What we're going to do now is spread
4:38
this all over our cookie pizza.
4:44
This is the dessert pizza.
4:47
So, I'm going to kind of just kind of
4:49
glop it
4:51
different parts here. That way, we can
4:53
spread it out nice and even.
4:57
Now, I'm going to grab my offset spatula
5:00
cuz let me tell you, when you're
5:01
frosting something, this is like a magic
5:04
tool in the kitchen. You have to have
5:06
one.
5:09
and I have it on my recipe blog,
5:12
kathernplates.com. Just go into the
5:15
cookbooks and kitchen item tab and then
5:18
go down to the Amazon store link and
5:22
then you'll find it there. And they
5:24
generally come in a two set.
5:26
So, what I'm doing is I'm frosting the
5:29
cookie here, kind of like a pizza. Nice
5:33
even layer. I'm going to kind of keep
5:35
the edge right there about a quarter of
5:38
an inch to a half an inch. And we'll
5:40
just keep going around till it's nice
5:42
and smooth.
5:45
Yeah, there we go. I'm just going to
5:49
smooth it out all the way down. This
5:52
will be a perfect little bed to put all
5:55
our fruits on. And then we got that
5:57
final layer after that.
6:00
Let's talk about the fruits.
6:02
Grab whatever fruits you want to put on
6:05
this pizza. Now, I recommend
6:08
blueberries,
6:10
some strawberries. You got your blue,
6:13
you got your red, some kiwi because
6:16
it'll add a nice spring green color to
6:18
it. And then I've also got some kind of
6:21
a mixed grapes in there because that
6:23
would be good, right? So, like a fruit
6:25
salad and top it on your pizza, right?
6:28
And then I got a nice color here, kind
6:30
of a yellow orange for peaches. And I
6:32
just pulled those out of a jar. They
6:34
come like that. So I'm just going to pat
6:36
them dry when I put them on the pizza so
6:38
I don't get it too soggy in there. But
6:40
all right. So what I'm going to do is
6:42
cut my strawberries. And I've already
6:44
washed them, taken off the stems, and
6:46
I'm just going to cut these in half and
6:47
then lay them going all the way around
6:49
the outside edge of my pizza right on
6:51
the cream cheese there. So I'm just
6:54
going to cut them in half. And then I'm
6:56
going to take the big end and place it
6:57
towards the end of the pizza there. Just
7:00
like that.
7:03
You know what?
7:05
I think I'm going to do that. We're
7:07
going to zigzag it.
7:09
And if you want to slice these thinner,
7:12
you can do that.
7:14
I like the big chunks.
7:17
>> Yeah. Ah, perfect. Right there.
7:22
Boom. What should I do next? Let's get a
7:24
ring of blueberries.
7:30
What would y'all do to your pizza?
7:34
This is a happy Mother's Day to me
7:37
early. We're going to do some kiwi.
7:40
They're the golden ones. And y'all, they
7:43
taste so good. Just cut off the ends and
7:46
then take a sharp pairing knife and just
7:48
go down the sides and peel it off. And
7:50
then just slice up
7:53
your kiwi like that. All right, we're
7:55
going to put these around the pizza.
8:01
I'm going to put them the long ways.
8:05
Looking good.
8:08
Got grapes here. Now, what I'm doing is
8:10
just halfing them. And I'm gonna place
8:13
them
8:16
right there
8:19
in front of the kiwi. Don't fill it up
8:22
so tightly that you can't see that cream
8:24
cheese there. You want to see that
8:25
frosting.
8:30
>> Yay.
8:32
>> I've got my peaches. I'm just going to
8:33
dry them off with a little paper towel
8:35
one at a time. fan them in there
8:41
just so they're not too wet.
8:46
We'll make a nice little fan in the
8:47
center there.
8:56
What do y'all think? What are y'all
8:58
gonna do?
9:00
>> Gonna eat it.
9:01
>> Gonna eat it.
9:03
Oh, doesn't that look pretty, you guys?
9:06
Happy Mother's Day.
9:10
We'll put that one right there. Oh my
9:12
gosh. Now we got to make it glisten.
9:16
Yeah, we're not done yet.
9:19
Take a jar of apple jelly. Or you can
9:23
use whatever flavor you want.
9:26
Let's see.
9:29
Yeah.
9:30
We're going to put about
9:33
couple of tablespoons.
9:36
Okay. Four.
9:40
Into a small microwave safe bowl. We're
9:42
going to heat this up for about 40
9:44
seconds. Just enough until it is
9:46
pliable. All right. There we go. It
9:49
smells delicious.
9:52
What we're going to do now is just take
9:53
it and coat all the fruit. give it a
9:56
nice glisten to it, an additional
10:00
flavor.
10:01
Now, I did make one of these like seven
10:05
years ago for you guys, and the cream
10:07
cheese frosting was a little different
10:09
where I used marshmallow fluff. Now, a
10:12
lot of y'all generally tell me, "Y'all
10:13
can't find marshmallow fluff where
10:15
you're from." So, I made a different
10:18
version today using that cream cheese
10:20
with the powdered sugar, but I do have a
10:23
video out there on YouTube. seven years
10:25
ago. You can look for it and you can see
10:27
how I did the marshmallow fluff. All
10:29
right, you guys. What do y'all think?
10:33
Is it glistening? All right, you guys.
10:38
Did we get it all? I need something
10:41
right in the center. What can it be? A
10:43
blueberry
10:46
right there.
10:49
All right, there it is, you guys. What
10:52
do y'all think? worthy of Mother's Day
10:55
or what special occasion are you going
10:57
to make this for? Do all red and blue
11:00
and you've got you a Fourth of July,
11:02
Memorial Day
11:04
pizza cookie also.
11:08
All right, you guys. Look at that. Look
11:10
how thick that is. You know, you're
11:12
going to cut these smaller for people.
11:14
Maybe squares. Oh, look at that. All
11:18
right, here's my bite.
11:22
All right,
11:32
y'all. That's delicious. Wow. That sugar
11:36
cookie with that cream cheese and that
11:40
apple
11:42
jelly on top.
11:49
Yeah, those flavors, they all go
11:52
together. It's wonderful.
11:54
All right, you guys, thumbs up on this
11:56
one. Make sure you comment down below.
11:59
Let us all know what fruits you're
12:02
putting on yours. Make sure that you
12:06
