Welcome back everyone. It's dinner time
0:02
and I've got one skillet here because
0:04
that's all you're going to need to make
0:06
this homemade version of beeferoni. Now
0:10
beeferoni is a pasta dish that has
0:14
ground beef, tomatoes in it. There's
0:17
going to be a little bit of cheese in it
0:18
also. Now this is kind of a copycat
0:21
version of a Chef Boy RD beeferoni that
0:24
I make. Now, this recipe, you can easily
0:29
follow along today, and I'll give you
0:31
step-by-step instructions like I do
0:33
always, and you can also find the recipe
0:36
in my cookbook, Staying Home for Dinner,
0:38
which is the Green Cookbook. All right,
0:41
you guys, it's as simple as this. We're
0:43
going to brown up one pound of ground
0:46
beef. Now, when I say one skillet,
0:48
you're going to need something deep, all
0:51
right? because we're going to be cooking
0:52
the ground beef in it, the sauce in it,
0:54
and then we also are going to be cooking
0:56
the pasta in it. So, you want some room
0:59
to make this dish. Now, I'm using the
1:01
8515, which is 85 lean, 15 fat,
1:05
grass-fed, and finished ground beef. We
1:08
get this from our local HB store. Just
1:11
take your kitchen utensil, start
1:14
breaking it up. I have this over a
1:16
medium high heat. Once we get this
1:18
broken up, we're going to allow it to
1:22
and then we'll dice up an onion. Just
1:25
got a medium yellow onion. Just take off
1:27
both ends, peel off that outer layer,
1:30
cut it in half, and then dice it up. And
1:33
I generally like to follow the lines of
1:35
the onion to get my slices. And then
1:37
just slice through the slices. And you
1:40
get dices. And you can easily do this
1:43
step while the ground beef is cooking. I
1:46
know it's summer time and it's hot for a
1:51
Bring out a skillet and make one dish.
1:53
Cook everything in it. That way you're
1:55
not eating salads all summer. This is a
1:57
good one. It's so easy. When I put my
2:00
cookbook out, my kids jumped on it
2:04
because it's all dinners. Rihanna's been
2:07
doing really good and Joseph and Megan,
2:09
they're still getting there.
2:12
They're the married couple.
2:16
The ground beef is about halfway done.
2:20
I'm going to be done with the meat
2:21
chopper here. Let's add the onion.
2:25
And they'll soften down as the ground
2:35
Once the ground beef is browned up and
2:38
all broken up and the onions are nice
2:40
and soft, we're going to drain out the
2:42
grease. So, what I like to do is just
2:44
take some paper towels, place it in
2:47
there, and absorb all of the the fat in
2:58
Now, we're going to put all the flavor
3:00
in. First thing you're going to need,
3:05
tomato soup. Now, these are 10 oz each.
3:08
We're going to put them in
3:21
One tablespoon of white granulated
3:27
Look what we got here. Seasonings. You
3:30
got to flavor it up. I got half a
3:32
teaspoon each of chili powder, garlic
3:35
powder, black pepper, and salt.
3:39
We're going to sprinkle that all in.
3:45
Now, what we're going to do is place our
3:50
stir this together, and we're going to
3:52
bring this to a boil.
3:58
Now, you can adjust the seasonings. I
4:00
would give it a try while it's coming to
4:02
a boil. Just give that sauce a little
4:10
Wow, that is so close to that flavor out
4:16
Love that tomatoey flavor in there.
4:20
That's delicious. Well, that's coming to
4:22
a boil. Let's talk about our pasta.
4:29
I imagine you can use anything you want
4:30
for this dish. Generally, it calls for
4:32
ziti because it's that kind of a longer
4:38
Well, what I had in my pantry was this
4:40
barfa. So, we're going to be using that.
4:43
And you're going to need about 8 ounces
4:45
of dry pasta for this recipe because
4:48
we're going to cook it in the pot here.
4:52
And we've still got another ingredient
4:55
at the end. It's a cheese. And it's just
4:58
going to kind of pull this all together.
5:03
See guys, there's back to school time.
5:06
Let them come in the door and smell
5:08
this, right? Put this with your favorite
5:11
sides, salad, bread sticks. Oh, garlic
5:16
bread. Yeah, that'll all be good for
5:21
Let's add in the pasta.
5:30
Now, what we're going to do is lower the
5:36
We're going to stir in the pasta
5:40
and we're going to cook this until the
5:41
pasta is tender and is absorbed
5:47
I'm just going to kind of push it down
5:52
Now, this is going to take about 15 to
5:54
20 minutes for that pasta to get nice
5:57
and cooked through, tender, and absorbed
5:59
all of the liquid. And we want that
6:03
sauce to be nice and thick. Now, every
6:06
so often, make sure that you stir
6:10
to make sure that that pasta is not
6:12
sticking to the bottom of the pan.
6:15
And then, just keep it below the liquid
6:17
line as much as you can.
6:20
Keep an eye on your liquid level. If you
6:22
feel like you need to add a little bit
6:23
more broth or water, you can do that.
6:25
And then you can place a lid on it to
6:27
help cook that pasta faster. All right,
6:29
we're done. Let me show you the finished
6:31
product and then what I'm going to add
6:32
to it as the cheese. Do y'all know what
6:38
Parmesan cheese. And we got some
6:44
All right, the pasta is cooked through
6:46
and tender. The sauce has thickened up.
6:49
We're going to turn it off.
6:52
And then we're going to sprinkle in
6:53
about a/4 cup of shredded Parmesan
6:57
cheese. Or this is actually grated. I'm
6:59
just going to put it right across the
7:04
And add in the parsley. About one
7:06
tablespoon of dried parsley.
7:11
We're going to blend this all together.
7:17
Looks delicious. That parsley will give
7:20
it a pop of color and that cheese, woo,
7:24
it's going to give it a nice flavor.
7:27
All right, y'all. What do y'all think?
7:29
My homemade one skillet 30 minute
7:36
All right, I'm going to bowl this up.
7:38
give it a try for you.
7:47
All right, look at that, you guys.
8:07
I love me some good old beeferoni.
8:10
Use whatever pasta you have. It works.
8:13
All right, that pasta is so tender. That
8:17
sauce is so delicious. It's kind of
8:19
creamy now with that parmesan cheese in
8:21
there. Yep, this works. All right, you
8:24
guys. Thumbs up on this one. I hope you
8:26
were able to follow along and get those
8:28
directions or you can find it in my
8:30
cookbook or you can even find it on my
