Pierogi & Sausage Casserole

I grew up with homemade Pierogi that my mom would make. To this day she makes these for me to freeze and use when I need them. Pairing them with Kielbasa Sausage and a creamy cheesy sauce makes for a very comforting dish.

Pierogi & Sausage Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 bag frozen pierogi
  • 1 pkg Polska Keilbasa, sliced into disks
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup Cheddar Cheese Shredded
  • cracked black pepper, to taste
  • Extra cheese for topping
  • green onion slices or chives for garnish.

Instructions

  • Cook pierogi first. Boil in water for a few minutes. Place in lightly sprayed casserole dish.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Place sliced kielbasa sausage into casserole dish with pierogi.
  • In a medium bowl add cream cheese, shredded cheese, black pepper, chicken broth, and sour cream. Mix well.
  • Pour over sausage and pierogi. Mix well.
  • Cover casserole dish with tin foil. Bake for 22-25 minutes. Remove tin foil. Sprinkle extra cheese on it. Place oven on broil and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with green onions or chives. Enjoy.
