One of stops while in Sedona, AZ was to a town that’s about 30 minutes outside of Sedona. It’s called Jerome, AZ. On the way there you will see a big white “J” on the side of the mountain which is where the town of Jerome sits. You will start to wind your way up a lot of switchbacks along the mountain to enter Jerome. These are minor compared to the ones from Flagstaff to Sedona. Once you enter Jerome the streets are very narrow and you continue to wind upward through a bunch of eclectic homes, store fronts, and old buildings. There is a lot of places for you to park. We parked and walked along the streets on narrow paths, walking upward more. Most of the stores there were owned by people who lived there most of their lives and had lots of stories to tell, some could have been ghost stories….it is known to be a haunted town. We enjoyed the quietness of this town. Several places to enter and grab ice cream, fudge, tea, hamburger, tee-shirts, memorabilia. If you get a chance, you should visit Jerome. By the way, don’t listen to your GPS if it tells you to take streets that are winding upward on a dirt path, very narrow and you can’t see. It might be wrong. Stay on concrete or turn around. Just saying………
