Asian Style Meatloaf
A delicious moist and flavorful meatloaf full of favorite Asian ingredients. Change your meatloaf up to this tasty version.

- large mixing bowl
- small mixing bowl
- 9 x 5 x 3 baking loaf pan
Ingredients
- 1 TBS cooking oil
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 3 green onions, sliced thin
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 inch fresh ginger, peeled & minced (sub 1/4 tsp ground ginger)
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 cup panko crumbs or bread crumbs (unseasoned)
- 1 large egg
- 3 TBS low sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a medium skillet over medium high heat add oil and allow to heat up. Add in diced yellow onion, sliced green onion, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Saute for 3 minutes. Remove mixture from skillet and allow to cool in small bowl.
- In a small bowl mix together ketchup and hoisin sauce.
- In a large bowl combine ground pork, ground beef, panko crumbs, egg, black pepper, salt, soy sauce, 1/2 of the ketchup mixture, and all of the onion mixture.
- Spray a 9" x 5" x 3" loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray. Place loaf pan on a foil lined sheet pan. Place meatloaf mixture into loaf pan and pat down evenly.
- Place in preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and drain excess grease from pan carefully. Spread remainder 1/2 of the ketchup mixture on top of the meatloaf. Place meatloaf back in oven for an additional 15-20 minutes.
- Remove from oven and allow to rest 10 minutes before serving.
