Baked Apple Hand Pies

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg (2 sheets) puff pastry (found in freezer section)
  • 1 can apple pie filling
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • white granulated sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • If puff pastry is frozen, make sure to unthaw per instructions on back of package.
  • Cut each sheet of pastry into 4 squares. Place 2 TBS of fruit pie filling on one side of each square. Brush egg wash on the sides of pastry near fruit pie filling. Fold pastry over the pie filling making a rectangle. Using a fork press edges to seal. Place pastry onto the lined baking sheet.
  • Brush tops and crimped edges with egg wash. Cut 3 slits into tops of each pastry.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on these. Cool on a wire rack.
