Christmas Cheese Ball Appetizer (Pomegranate Ornament)

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz block) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/3 cup green onions, sliced
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups pomegranate seeds
  • fresh rosemary leaves (sprigs)

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl mix together cream cheese, cheddar cheese, pecans, green onions, and salt.
  • Lay out 2 sheets of plastic wrap, overlapping partway. Place cheese mixture into center of plastic wrap and using the sides of the plastic wrap form mixture into a ball shape. Cover ball with the same plastic wrap. Place in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • Remove plastic wrap and place cheese ball into a medium mixing bowl. Pour pomegranate seeds into bowl and press them into cheese ball.
  • Push sprigs of rosemary into cheese ball. Serve on a serving platter with holiday crackers.
