Crockpot Barbecue Green Beans

A delicious side with a yummy homemade bbq sauce slow cooked into fresh green beans.

Equipment

  • 6 quart crockpot/slow cooker

Ingredients

  • 2-3 lbs fresh green beans, cut ends off, rinse and dry off
  • 2 medium yellow or white onions, diced
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite flavor or brand)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 TBS Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4-6 pcs bacon, cooked until crisp and crumbled

Instructions

  • Place green beans and diced onion into crockpot.
  • In a small bowl whisk together barbecue sauce, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup and brown sugar. Pour mixture all over green beans. Stir until green beans are all coated.
  • Place lid on and cook on low 5-6 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until desired softness is achieved on the green beans.
  • Mix in crisp bacon pieces. (NOTE: you can place bacon in while green beans are cooking or after.)
  • Enjoy.

    • Yes, you can use green beans from the can just cut your cook time in half and cook them till you get the desired texture you’re looking for.
