Prepare cake batter per instructions on back of cake box. (To make the cake a bakery style, substitute milk for the water, and butter for the oil for a more richer flavor and more moist cake.)
Spray the sides, bottom, and edges of crockpot really well. (use a spray with flour to help ease cake out of crockpot.)
Drain cherries and discard stems. Chop into halves or pieces. Mix into cake batter.
Pour cake batter into crockpot and smooth evenly. Place paper towels over crockpot to absorb any moisture that drips from the inside lid, this will keep your cake from being too wet. Place lid on crockpot and cook on high 2 hours until cake is firm in the center and starts to pull away from the sides of crockpot.
Turn off crockpot and allow cake to rest for 15-20 minutes. Using a spoon gently pull cake from sides and bottom of crockpot to make sure it will release. Turn crockpot on it's side longways and place a platter in front of crockpot opening to catch the cake when you tip over the crockpot.
Dust with powdered sugar.
Why didn’t you put the cherry juice in the measuring cup and then add more milk to it if you needed it they gave me a really good cherry flavor I love your recipes
sure that would certainly give it more cherry flavor. Thanks so much for enjoying my recipes.
What if you put parchment paper and go Kris Kross on the bottom of the Crock-Pot and then put your cake mix in there so you could pick up the cake easier
Yes if that works for you, sure go ahead. Sounds easy enough.
