French Dip Biscuit Sandwich

Equipment

  • large sheet pan
  • parchment paper
  • Medium sauce pan
  • whisk

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz) can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 count) flaky layers
  • 1/2 lb deli sliced roast beef
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 TBS horseradish sauce (optional)
  • 1 packet (1.0) oz au jus gravy mix + amount of water listed on packet

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper.
  • Split each biscuit in half creating 2 layers. Spread horseradish sauce on bottom layer of each biscuit. Top with roast beef and half a slice of cheese folded in half. Cover with top half of biscuit. Place on the prepared sheet pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes until biscuits are golden brown and cheese has melted.
  • While biscuits are baking in oven prepare the au jus gravy mix per directions on back of packet.
    NOTE: if you want a thicker gravy, add a corn starch slurry (2 tsp corn starch mixed with 2 TBS water and add to gravy to help thicken more, if needed.
  • Serve them up with a small side dish of gravy for dipping the stuffed biscuits in. Enjoy.
