Hot Chocolate Spoons

These hot chocolate spoons are so versatile.  You can mix and match different baking chips and toppings.  Check out what flavors I used.  These are so fun to make afterwards in your cup of hot milk.

Hot Chocolate Spoons

Author Catherine's Plates

Ingredients

  • 1-3 bags chocolate chips any flavor
  • toppings crushed oreos, crushed peppermints, marshmallows
  • 1 cup hot milk for each spoon used.
  • ice cube trays
  • plastic spoons

Instructions

  • I used silicone ice trays. These were so easy to take out of these trays.
  • Use whatever flavor you would like to create the chocolate portion. (I used a winter chips which were chocolate chips and mint chips mixed together.)
  • Empty chip bag into a microwave safe bowl or measuring glass. Heat for 30 seconds, take out and stir. Place back into microwave for 30 additional seconds. Remove and stir again. Continue until it's completely melted.
  • If you have other flavors of chocolate go ahead and melt those at this time.
  • Place 2-3 TBS of a combined mix of your melted chocolates into each tray compartment. (If you want a combination of white chocolate and mint, you would use 1 1/2 TBS of each flavor.) Do not go over 3 TBS of any combination.
  • Place plastic spoon into center of chocolate. Sprinkle whatever toppings you would like and mash down a little so it will stick to the chocolate. (I used mini marshmallows, crushed oreos, and crushed peppermint.)
  • Once all compartments are filled and each has a spoon in it, place in refrigerator for 30-40 minutes to set.
  • Once you pull out of refrigerator, give the trays a little twist carefully to release. Pull out the spoons very carefully.
  • These can be stored in an airtight container set on your counter. You do not need to refrigerate.
  • One spoon will make 1 cup of hot chocolate using hot milk.
  • Stir for a few minutes to have it melt into milk.
  • Enjoy!
