0:00
good morning everyone y'all got your cup of coffee ready for some cinnamon rolls
0:05
I'm going to take these cans of cinnamon rolls and I'm going to make them scrumptious first thing you want to do
0:12
is spray your 9x13 baking dish with some nonstick cooking spray we're going to
0:18
take the original cinnamon rolls that come in a eight pack can we're going to place them in our baking dish make sure
0:24
you save your can of icing we're going to use that later you're going to take your cinnamon rolls and you're going to place them with the cinnamon side facing
0:31
up two packages of the original will fit into your 9x13 baking
0:37
dish all right we got one more we'll just put that right here now we're going to Puff these up in the oven by using
0:45
some heavy whipping cream it's supposed to make them really big like a Cinnabon
0:51
and be nice and fluffy on the inside one cup heavy whipping cream what you want
0:59
to do is pour this in between all of your cinnamon
1:04
rolls so just go in between them all right now what we're going to
1:11
do is set this aside and then we're going to make the topping there's two
1:17
toppings one topping that will bake on top of this while it's in the oven and then a second topping that we're going
1:23
to pour on top okay first topping we're going to start off with one stick of
1:29
melted butter butter to that we're going to add half a tablespoon of cinnamon
1:35
that looks good there and then we're going to add 3/4 cup brown
1:45
sugar just take a fork and blend that all together what we're going to do now is
1:51
bring over our cinnamon rolls you're going to take the brown sugar mixture and you're going to pour that on top of
1:57
the rolls remember we're making these Lu just put what you need on there I've
2:03
got my oven preheating at 350° you're going to take some foil and
2:08
cover your dish we're going to place this in our preheated oven for about 35 to 45
2:16
minutes the cinnamon roll Cinnabons are almost done in the oven so what I'm going to do is take those two packages
2:23
of icing we're just going to put them into a medium Bowl we're going to add one t spoon of
2:30
melted butter half a teaspoon of vanilla extract a splash of milk we're going to
2:36
start with about a tablespoon and if we need to add more later we will we're going to add in one cup of powdered
2:42
[Music] sugar take your hand mixer we're going to blend this together now start on the
2:49
lowest setting so you don't have your powdered sugar flying everywhere just going to scrape down the
2:55
sides just going to add a little bit more milk to thin it out
3:00
a look how thick and luxurious that looks all right let's get those cinnamon rolls over here all right just be
3:06
careful with the steam oh my look at that now they should be kind of firm on
3:11
the top to the touch just take a toothpick and go in it should come out clean these look really good look at
3:18
that we're going to take that icing and we're going to spread it all over
3:24
these oh these smell amazing just let this melt right in what do y'all think
3:31
I'm going to go in the center here so y'all can see oh look at that right
3:38
there oh look that's fluffy right there today I
3:44
am going to take two refrigerated cans of original cinnamon rolls I'm going to
3:50
turn those into lip smacking delicious sticky buns we're going to do this with
3:58
five ingredients the first thing we're going to do is make that delicious sticky sauce I'm going to turn on my
4:05
burner to a medium heat you just want a small or a medium
4:12
siiz sauce pan I'm going to add one stick or half a cup of
4:22
butter we're going to stir this until the butter is all melted you're going to
4:28
wow anybody around the holidays when you show up with these they're going to think you've
4:34
been in the kitchen all day putting these together we're going to add one cup of
4:41
brown sugar you want to go into the brown
4:46
sugar overloaded and then you want to pack it into your measuring
4:56
cup then I'm going to add this to my melted butter
5:13
[Music] we're going to stir this together I'm just using a
5:20
spatula we want that sugar to melt into the butter we're going to add 1/4 cup of
5:27
light corn syrup now if you don't have corn syrup you can
5:44
well I'm just going to bring a whisk over we're going to mix this together
5:49
let it simmer for one minute and you want to continually stir it looks really good in
5:57
there see how thick it's getting that's what we're looking for what we're going to do now is turn off the
6:05
heat we're going to let this sit here while we prepare our baking
6:10
dish I have a 9x13 baking
6:15
dish taking some nonstick cooking spray I'm just going to
6:21
spray the bottom the top and the corners then we're going to take our mixture
6:28
that we made here nice sticky brown sugar butter corn syrup mixture and pour
6:35
it all onto the bottom of her baking
6:41
dish take my spatula just kind of evenly spread it out until it's evenly covering
6:46
the bottom this will start getting really thick be fast with it I have some
6:52
crushed pecans I'm going to sprinkle all over the mixture
7:02
our fifth ingredient we're going to take the cinnamon rolls out of the package this is an 8C count original size or you
7:10
can take the five count which are the larger size and do that we're just going
7:15
to take the rolls out of the package
7:25
here and then what we're going to do is Lay these all across here squish them in really
7:33
good it takes about 30 minutes and only five ingredients boy brunch for the
7:39
holidays a fall Ready recipe M these are going to be
7:46
delicious oh doesn't that look good we're ready to place these in our
7:52
oven that's been preheating at 375° for 20 to 30 minutes It'll all
7:59
depends on how your oven runs you want to make sure that these are golden brown
8:04
and then take a toothpick and just stick it through the cinnamon roll and make sure that they're cooked through and
8:10
you're not pulling out any dough if you still have dough that you're pulling out you can put these back in the oven if
8:15
they're getting too Brown you can just place a sheet of foil over it lightly and then finish cooking them I'll be
8:22
back I'm going to show you how we're going to get that distinct look of a sticky bun
8:30
good to go we're going to pull these
8:38
out we're going to let these rest in the baking dish for three minutes don't go
8:44
any more than that because you don't want that sauce on the bottom to really get thick and sticky okay we want them
8:51
to come out with the biscuits so in 3 minutes what we're going to do is put a
8:56
serving platter upside down on here and we're going to invert it over so that
9:02
they're all upside down got my serving platter I'm going to flip it over just going to lay it on top
9:09
of the rolls very carefully because the dish is still hot just going to slide it over to the end here make sure you have
9:15
two towels readily available and you need to be
9:22
fast so I'm going to grab it like that and we're going to flip
9:30
there we go oh yeah now if you want to add a more sugar
9:37
to this those two little cups of icing that come with the cinnamon rolls you can certainly take that heated up just a
9:44
little bit swirl out all over your pecan sticky buns we're not doing
9:53
that who's running out to the store right now to get you some cinnamon rolls good morning everyone what did you think
9:59
of those bear claws I'm fixing to get ready to show you how easy it is to put these together it is a favorite okay
10:07
we're going to start by preparing the puff pastry sheets now you want to follow the directions on the back of the
10:13
package to prepare these and get these ready they come Frozen they take about
10:18
40 minutes to thaw just on your countertop or you can put them in the microwave and just follow that
10:24
instruction [Applause]
10:30
just going to lightly flower a work surface and we're going to unroll
10:37
it now it's generally folded into threes and there should be two sheets in there
10:43
so we'll work with one and put this off to the side now it has paper sheets that separate the fold so just go ahead and
10:49
pull those off so what we're going to do is cut this into nine pieces it's
10:55
already since it's folded we're going to use the fold lines as a measuring tool here just going to take a sharp knife
11:03
and cut down that fold line see I'm just going to use the other sheet to help measure and then we're going to cut this
11:09
way and that will give you nine squares that's how fast you can make the
11:15
dough now to make this even easier we're going to be using something called almond paste you can use an almond
11:24
filling or you could even go online to Google or Pinterest and find a quick
11:30
recipe on how to make your own almond paste but we're keeping it easy today
11:36
now it comes in just a log shape and this is the box that I'm using right here the ingredients in the paste it's
11:45
almonds sugar water and then a natural enzyme to preserve it okay so this was a
11:51
7 oz package so I'm just going to take my sharp knife cut through the end
12:02
okay what we're going to do is get about two teaspoon per square I'm just going
12:07
to cut thin slices like
12:13
that take one square of the pastry dough and on one side of
12:23
it you're going to put the almond paste so you want to make
12:29
sure that you leave enough room that you can fold the dough over the paste so just keep your paste when you cut
12:36
it thin cut it in half
12:41
lengthwise and then just place it on one side of your dough leaving an edge okay
12:47
we're going to start giving them that be claw look go ahead and have a sheet pan
12:53
ready and just line it with some parchment paper have a fork ready ready and then
13:00
just have a sharp knife what we're going to do you're going to take one edge of
13:05
the puff pastry you're going to flip it over the paste and then seal it on all edges so
13:14
take the edge go over the paste seal
13:25
it you're going to take your knife and we're going to make just just four slits at the top about half an inch
13:38
apart now if you want to use your fork press down and then just pull out
13:53
that okay what we're doing is creating a be Paw I'm just placing these on the baking
14:01
sheet lined with parchment paper and you just want to kind of bend
14:10
them and I just kind of pinch in the middle just a little bit that way the lines that we cut kind of open
14:20
up so we're going to be pushing the edges that we
14:26
sealed inward like that it'll kind of open up the cut lines that
14:34
we made y'all these are so fun to
14:41
make okay I separated an egg and I have the egg yolk in a small bowl here and I
14:47
just put in about a teaspoon of water blending this up really
14:55
good we're going to take a pastry brush and then we're going to coat each one of
15:03
these you're going to wake up the house with these once they start baking and they smell
15:09
them all right we got to give them some sliced almonds on the
15:17
top that's that signature look right okay I'm going to place these in
15:23
my oven that's been preheating at 400° for around 15 to 18 minutes into a nice
15:29
and golden brown we still have to finish this off while those are in the oven I'm
15:35
going to go ahead and do that last batch right here o look at
15:45
those okay what we're going to do is immediately move these off of the pan and put them on a cooling rack and let
15:52
these cool completely don't those look cute once
15:57
these cool I'm going to show you how we're going to top these off okay what I did was I took the rack
16:04
that the bear claws were cooling on and I place them into the baking sheet again
16:11
and I just put some parchment underneath there that way when we make the drizzle and pour it over them the drizzle can
16:18
land on that parchment paper and then you can just toss that easy clean up we're going to make the drizzle in a
16:24
small bowl I have one cup of powdered sugar and I'm just going to use a whisk
16:31
we're going to add in about 1 tblspoon of milk at a
16:37
time till we get to the consistency that we
16:43
need all right let add a little bit more what's great about making this
16:48
drizzle is that if you put too much milk you can always add some extra powdered sugar just keep stirring it and pulling
16:55
it up and seeing if you get to that drizzle I'm going to give it a little flavor by
17:01
adding about half a teaspoon of vanilla
17:09
extract let's drizzle these on the bear claws that we have cooled down I want y'all to look at these look how Golden
17:16
Brown These are that's what they should look like on the back side and the almonds have toasted while they were in
17:24
the oven all right and then just take it
17:40
it okay we're going to bring the other ones over drizzle those we're going to have
17:46
18 delicious mini bear
17:54
claws okay I'm just going to give it like one or two minutes just to set up we are going to make orange knots I am
18:01
using eight big biscuits these are GRS by Pillsbury and they're just flaky
18:06
layers the original now you can use any variety that you
18:12
want different type of brand doesn't even have to be the Grands
18:17
they can be just the original regular size
18:22
biscuits all right let's open this up pop it open we're going to pull these
18:29
out place them all around your clean work surface I'm just using a silicone
18:39
mat this will help keep the biscuits from sticking to our work surface and I don't have to sprinkle flour all over
18:49
it there we go it's a really simple easy dish to put together you can have this
18:55
done in 30 minutes that's even baked
19:02
time all right we're going to cut them in
19:13
half you get your family involved they'll be happy to help you make
19:20
these now you don't need tops and bottoms and all of that you just need
19:25
equal parts we go at
19:40
that and you guessed it this recipe is going to call for
19:46
16 that's how many biscuits I'm using today so you're going to take one
19:51
biscuit half and you're going to roll it in your hand to create
19:59
a log shape you can roll it out on your work
20:12
out just like that and then we're just going to pull
20:18
it twist it around your hand all the way around to where it's like that and then
20:23
you're going to tuck it in
20:31
now I got excited about this recipe because it has real orange juice in it
20:36
somewhere and I can't wait to show you where that's going to be give it a nice fresh citrusy
20:43
flavor all right bring it around your three fingers tuck it up underneath pull
20:49
it in there we go and then you got your knot
20:59
now I love those orange sweet rolls that come in a can who doesn't right but
21:06
sometimes those are hard to find and when I saw this recipe and then
21:11
kind of gave it a little twist of my own I was excited cuz we'll get those same flavors
21:19
and a little bit more more freshness anyway to make orange sweet
21:25
rolls better I want to make sure that y'all were
21:30
understanding what I was doing so take it just roll it roll it roll it to about
21:36
12 in you can use a measuring tool to measure it out if you'd
21:42
like wrap it around three fingers come around and pull that off your fingers
21:49
pull this through the bottom of the hole and then just twist it
21:55
out there you go now that we got them we're going to coat these in a small
22:01
bowl we're going to add in four tablespoons of melted
22:08
butter to that we're going to add 2 tablespoons of white granulated
22:17
sugar we're going to take an orange and we're going to zest about one tablespoon into our butter sugar
22:30
I'm just going to put it there there we go just lay it on your bowl go around
22:36
the orange keep an eye on the places that you've already zested on you don't want
22:42
to go any further than that cuz then it'll be bitter no I'm not really measuring
22:49
this but I'm going to give it some good flavor already smells very fresh from
22:55
the orange that's citrus all right we're going to get all that out of
23:02
there we're going to take a whisk and blend this together all right let's set this off to
23:08
the side I'm bringing over a sheet pan okay I've got a sheet pan lined with
23:15
some parchment paper I'm going to take my knots I'm going to place them on the parchment paper now just leave some room
23:22
in between each one because you know they will puff up
23:33
oh these are going to be good going be fun to eat all right we got one more you know
23:41
what I'm going to put it down here I'm make a row of four there we
23:47
go all right we're going to take our
23:52
mixture mix it up take a pastry brush dip it in really
24:01
good and we're just going to coat the
24:12
knots make sure every bite get
24:17
some all right if you have any left just look around and just put it where you need
24:24
it all right are y'all happy with that wo
24:29
we're going to bake these for 8 to 10 minutes in a 375° preheated oven keep an eye on these
24:38
because you want to make sure you don't burn the sugars on these all right I'm going to be back I've still got the rest
24:44
of this orange to place in with a few other ingredients to finish these off oh yeah
24:51
it can get better while our orange knots are in the
24:57
oven we're going to make a final glaze for these now just in a kind of a small medium Bowl we're going to add half a
25:04
cup of powdered sugar now you can sift it in there I'm
25:12
just going to place it in there and then I'm just going to use a
25:22
whisk that happens a lot doesn't it take a whisk and just kind of aate the powdered sugar
25:30
just try to keep it all in the bowl I'm just going to bring a small
25:36
cutting board over cuz once we get this kind of erated we're going to add in
25:41
some orange juice now I'm just going to take an orange I cut it in half already
25:47
I'm just going to squeeze the orange juice into my bowl with the powdered sugar you're looking add a couple
25:55
tablespoons then we're going to whisk it and if we need to add more We'll add
26:01
more juice you want to make sure you get to a consistency that will be easily
26:06
enough drizzled over our orange knots
26:12
I'm going to add a little bit more freshness to it by grating a little bit more of the orange actually it's zesting
26:19
for the correct term finish zesting this one
26:26
here oh that smells good you only want about a teaspoon and then we'll put that
26:32
together all right the knots are done I'm going to bring them over here and then we're going to drizzle this all
26:38
over them we're not going to brush them on I'm just going to take my Fork just hold them over it and then just
26:50
drizzle think I'm going to drizzle over them going to cover them
26:56
good all right what do y'all think look at these
27:02
things all right got them all nice and plated up how to make honey butter
27:08
crescent rolls and it is so simple you're going to start off with a tube of
27:14
crescent roll dough that's refrigerated okay I wish it was easy as
27:20
just one tube of crescent roll dough but for my family it's going to take
27:25
two so what you want to do is prepare these Pur the directions on the back of the
27:31
package it's fine to start
27:41
here just give it a good whack on the edge of your counter if it doesn't open up for you now I have a large sheet pan and
27:49
I've laid a piece of parchment paper on it and that'll happen for each
27:55
roll so the recipe I'm doing today is going to be a double
28:00
recipe yeah I have no restraint when it comes to these there's a restaurant in town
28:07
called Cheddars and y'all might be familiar with it or maybe you're not and they give you
28:15
these like for an appetizer to start before you start your
28:21
meal okay so what we're going to do is you want to roll them up long end all the way way to the
28:29
tip and then give these some room to grow this can't be any
28:40
easier just like that so yeah Cheddars gives these to you
28:46
as an appetizer or they give you one to go with your meal if you order the right thing but
28:55
let me tell you you can order a plate of these and people will just jump on them really
29:02
quick it's got a delicious flavor to them nice and
29:09
sweet yeah so I'm trying to replicate the recipe for these I found something
29:16
similar I think so we're going to give these a try it's kind of a copycat
29:22
version now there is a recipe out there with the same kind of concept but you
29:28
have to make your own crescent rolls from dough and I'm like nope I like this
29:33
version better it's fast if you have somebody that likes to roll out the crescents even
29:40
better so these were the Grand's crescent rolls original so not the
29:45
butter flavor or anything like that and there's eight rolls in each package okay I promise you if you put
29:52
these on the dinner table they will not last they will be moaning
29:58
trying to get to the last ones because these are so that's how delicious these are they melt in your mouth so delicious
30:05
okay what we're going to do is bake these Pur the instructions on the back of the
30:11
package meanwhile while these are baking we are going to make that delicious
30:16
honey butter drizzle that's going to go on these and that's what's going to take it over the top I mean to tell you you
30:25
have no idea what these ingredients are you might know two of them comment down below if you think you
30:32
know the third I'm gonna stick these in the oven
30:37
these will take about 12 to 15
30:50
minutes okay this is a doubled recipe so what we're going to do is take four
30:55
tablespoons of butter and melt it in a medium sauce
31:02
pan what we're going to do is put this on a medium
31:16
heat I couldn't find the honey so I asked my husband where the honey was he's like well you're right
31:23
there yeah that's funny isn't it that was like really
31:29
sweet all right we found the honey I'm putting my butter back on the burner and heat that up just a little
31:35
bit I had to pull it off until I found the honey my husband had it hiding in his coffee bar
31:43
area there we go all right you're going to need a
31:49
spatula two tablespoons
32:10
overflow all right we're going to whisk this together well I'm just going to use a spatula here blend it all
32:18
together all right we're going to go ahead now and add the other ingredient powdered sugar all right
32:24
we're going to add in two tablespoons now the powder sugar is going to act as a
32:30
thickener and give it a little more
32:36
sweetness all right just blend this together I'm just going to mash down on
32:41
the powdered sugar we want to make sure this is all
32:46
combined you want it all nice and smooth and you don't want any lumps in there we're going to turn this off now
33:01
oh that looks really good we're just going to let this sit here until our rolls are
33:12
ready woo look how golden those look we're going to make them even
33:20
better okay what we're going to do is place these immediately onto plates or
33:27
serving platters you want to get them off of the pan so they can stop cooking because you see how golden brown that is
33:48
want all right if you need to bring your butter mixture
33:54
that my dog if you need to bring your butter mixture back to life you can just
34:00
put it over the stove top for just a minute add a little bit of butter and swirl it
34:06
around we're going to use a pastry brush and we're going to brush this all over
34:17
crescents you want them nice and hot that way it'll melt that honey and everything all over them
34:47
go all right what do y'all think they're going to love you for
34:54
these before dinner hey let's give one a
35:01
try oh okay I guess I'm going to have the person that hid the honey on me first
35:10
dibs he thinks it's the whole plate it's not no it's one
35:18
one come on y'all one for them one for them
35:29
oh my God that [Music] good what do you think does it remind
35:36
you of something Chatters
35:43
mhm yeah they give you those as appetizer
35:50
MH or one to go with your meal these are good they're good oh yeah good looking
35:57
at me beagle he's the one that sneezed earlier all right y'all give me a thumbs
36:04
