Marshmellow Yams

This is a traditional dish for Thanksgiving as far back as I can remember.  Such a sweet dish next to the turkey. Yum.

Marshmellow Yams

Ingredients

  • 1 can yams 40 oz (drained)
  • 1/3 bag mini marshmellows
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter pats

Instructions

  • Butter baking dish.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Place 1/3 can of yams into baking dish.
  • Place 1/3 of brown sugar on top of yams.
  • Place 4 pats of butter on brown sugar.
  • Repeat 2 more times.
  • Place lid on baking dish or cover with foil. Place in oven for 20 minutes. Remove lid, place marshmallows on top to cover yams. Place back in oven uncovered for 10 minutes until marshmallows are lightly browned.
