  • electric hand mixer with whisk attachment or stand mixer or wire whisk
  • medium bowl
  • spatula
  • 3 small bowls
  • spoons
  • 9" x 5" x 3" loaf pan you can use other pan options that will freeze well.
  • plastic wrap

Ingredients

  • 16 oz heavy whipping cream
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extact
  • 1 pinch (1/8 tsp) salt
  • red & blue food coloring
  • red & blue m&ms

Instructions

  • This is a patriotic version. But you can keep this all white and mix in other favorite toppings & mix-ins.
  • Pour heavy whipping cream into a large mixing bowl. Beat using an electric hand mixer until stiff peaks form.
NOTE: you can also use a stand mixer or a wire whisk. The wire whisk will take more time but it's an option.
  • In a separate medium mixing bowl mix together sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt.
  • Slow integrate the condensed milk mixture into the heavy whipping cream topping by folding together using a spatula.
  • Evenly place the final mixture into 3 small bowls.
  • In one bowl of mixture add blue food coloring and mix until desired shade of blue appears. Add more food coloring as needed.
In another bowl of mixture add red food coloring and mix until desired shard of red appears. Add more food coloring as needed.
Leave final bowl of mixture white.
  • Place all of the red mixture into the bottom of a 9" x 5" x 3" loaf pan and smooth evenly. Place a hand full of M&Ms on top of the mixture.
  • Place the white mixture on top of the red mixture and sprinkle on M&M.
Finish by spreading the blue mixture on top of the white. Top with a handful of M&Ms.
  • Take a knife and swirl the red, blue, and white mixtures together. DO NOT OVER MIX OR YOU WILL HAVE A PURPLE COLOR. You just want a swirly look.
  • Cover dish with plastic wrap and freeze for 4-5 hours to set up. Scoop out and enjoy.
