Equipment

  • 1 large deep skillet or Dutch Oven Pot

Ingredients

Meatballs

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lg egg
  • 1/4 cup parmesan shredded cheese
  • 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 TBS dried parsley

Spaghetti Sauce

  • 1 (24oz) jar favorite pasta sauce
  • 32 oz chicken broth
  • 1 TBS butter
  • 1/8 – 1/4 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/8 – 1/4 tsp black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder to taste

Spaghetti

  • 12 oz dry uncooked spaghetti
  • dried or fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl combine meatball ingredients (ground beef, egg, Italian seasoning, minced garlic, panko bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, & parsley).
Form 1 1/2 scoop sized meatballs rolled tightly.
  • In a large skillet heat 1TBS cooking oil to a sizzle. Place meatballs into hot skillet and brown them on one side 4 minutes and turn off meatballs and brown for 2-3 minutes. Then move meatballs around to brown sides. Drain any excess grease.
NOTE: we are not fully cooking the meatballs during this stage.
  • Add in jar of pasta sauce, butter, salt & pepper to taste, garlic powder and chicken broth. Turn heat to high and bring to a boil.
  • Add in spaghetti. I break spaghetti in half for ease. Stir and allow spaghetti to be covered in sauce.
  • Place lid on, lower heat to a medium low. Simmer for 10-12 minutes until spaghetti is tender. (Stir a few times during cooking time.)
  • Turn off burner and allow spaghetti to sit for 5 minutes to allow sauce to thicken and absorb into spaghetti. Sprinkle with dried or fresh parsley. Enjoy.
