Welcome back everyone. Today we are
0:03
going to make a crumble copycat cookie.
0:07
These are dark dream cookies and it
0:11
comes out of my cookbook, Easy Dectible
0:14
Dessert Recipes. So, it's been in here
0:17
for a while, but we like crumble
0:21
cookies. If you don't know, they're big
0:23
cookies. They're filled with delicious
0:25
ingredients. They change them every
0:27
week. Thomas has gotten hooked on them
0:32
and he does them over on his channel,
0:34
Rational Reviewer, and he reviews them
0:37
every so often when he sees a good week
0:41
of cookies. All right, you guys. We're
0:43
going to go ahead and get started. This
0:44
is easy enough. It's going to happen all
0:47
in one bowl and then we're going to make
0:48
them. So, we're going to cream together
0:50
some ingredients first and go from
0:52
there. We're going to have chocolate on
0:54
top of chocolate on top of chocolate.
0:58
We're going to start in a large mixing
1:00
bowl. We're going to add in 3/4 cup of
1:04
brown sugar. Make sure it's packed good.
1:08
So, I'm just going to go in flatten it
1:10
out.
1:12
I've got a one4 cup here. So, I'm going
1:14
to go in three times.
1:23
there. When you pack it good, it should
1:26
look like that.
1:28
To that, we're going to add in 2
1:30
tablebspoon of white granulated sugar.
1:35
And then we're going to add in one stick
1:37
of very soft butter. Now, this is salted
1:41
butter.
1:48
There we go. Now, we're going to take
1:50
our electric hand mixer. We're going to
1:51
blend this together until it's nice and
1:53
smooth, creamy,
1:59
well combined.
2:05
All right,
2:07
I'm going take my spatula. Oh, yeah. You
2:09
can tell that it's definitely creamy.
2:16
I'm just going to clean off the sides of
2:17
the bowl here.
2:20
We're going to crack in one egg.
2:28
And then we're going to add in two
2:29
teaspoon of vanilla extract.
2:37
One and two. And we'll cream that
2:40
together.
2:48
Now, we're going to mix this until it's
2:49
just combined.
2:58
All right. Now, what we're going to do
2:59
is I got a sifter. I've just sat it in
3:02
my bowl.
3:04
It fits just perfect. And what we're
3:07
going to do is take 1 and 1/4 cups of
3:10
allpurpose flour
3:12
and we're going to put it in our sifter.
3:18
I'm running out of flour.
3:23
And then we'll do a/4 cup.
3:27
So that's a total of one and a/4 cups of
3:30
the white allpurpose flour.
3:34
And then we're going to take some cocoa
3:35
powder. This is unsweetened
3:40
and we're going to do half a cup. We're
3:42
just going to put that right on top of
3:44
the flour.
3:52
Cuz this is a dark chocolate dream.
3:57
We're going to add in a half a teaspoon
3:59
of baking soda.
4:05
and
4:08
1/4 teaspoon of salt.
4:14
Now I'm just going to take a whisk
4:19
and whisk it into the bowl.
4:26
Kind of give a good blend in there.
4:33
It smells chocolatey.
4:39
There we go. We're going to add in one
4:42
cup of semieet chocolate chips.
4:52
We're going to take a spatula and we're
4:53
going to fold this all together
4:56
till it's well combined.
5:01
Yes.
5:01
All right. So, we're just going to keep
5:03
mashing till we get a dough.
5:08
All right. After a few minutes, you
5:10
should have a nice tight dough.
5:15
Yeah. Woo! Look at that. You know that's
5:18
going to be one chocolate cookie.
5:22
There we go. Now, I'm going to use the
5:26
standard cookie scoop right here, which
5:28
is the 1 and 1/2 inch. I've got a bigger
5:31
one. It'll form the really big ones like
5:33
what Crumble does, but we're going to
5:35
kind of miniify them cuz this will make
5:38
about six cookies if you do that.
5:41
So, we're going to go in. We're going to
5:43
push down on the dough.
5:46
Pull it out.
5:50
Get it nice and formed there.
5:53
There we go. And then we're going to
5:55
place it onto our sheetpan
6:00
like that.
6:02
Now, I'm going to leave some space
6:03
because we are going to flatten out the
6:05
cookies.
6:13
Oo, smells so good.
6:17
Make sure you form it really well. We
6:20
don't want our cookies to break.
6:24
We're going to take a little small
6:27
square of parchment paper. I just cut
6:29
that out. And the bottom edge of a
6:32
glass. We're going to place it on top of
6:34
each dough ball.
6:36
And we're going to flatten it out
6:41
about that size.
6:45
There we go.
6:51
then they'll cook nice and even.
6:55
I'm thinking back to when I made them
6:56
the big way
6:58
and I didn't put very many on the pan,
7:00
but you might can get a third row of
7:01
these.
7:04
Okay, while these are baking, we're
7:06
going to go ahead and do these. And I'm
7:08
going to do these in the larger size
7:12
to resemble a crumble cookie. But I was
7:14
showing you that you can also do them in
7:15
the mini sizes so you get lots more
7:17
cookies.
7:22
All right. That's how big the ball of
7:25
dough is going to be.
7:26
Like a scoop of ice cream.
7:29
Yep.
7:36
Now you can form these with your hand if
7:38
you want to do that.
7:43
You know, if y'all know the crumble
7:44
cookies, y'all know
7:46
that they're big.
7:51
And this will finish up
7:55
the cookie dough.
8:00
All right, we're going to grab another
8:01
piece of parchment
8:05
and we'll flatten them out.
8:17
Wh make sure that they are all the same
8:19
size and thickness. That way they cook
8:22
evenly.
8:26
There we go. Now, these are going to
8:28
bake in a 350°ree
8:31
preheated oven for about 10 minutes.
8:35
I got the smaller ones already in the
8:37
oven. And then we're going to put those
8:39
in there. I'm going to come back and I'm
8:40
going to show you these cookies. Now, if
8:43
you want to add extra chocolate chips
8:45
when you flatten the cookies, you can do
8:46
that also before they go into the oven.
8:48
You can just kind of smash them in for
8:50
that third layer of chocolate.
8:54
All right, here's my copycat
8:56
crumble dark dream cookies.
9:01
I have them the full size and in the
9:04
minis. Going to add a little powdered
9:06
sugar.
9:16
There we go, you guys. All right. You
9:19
are going to put these delicious dark
9:22
dream cookies on your cookie platter.
9:25
You're going to give them away to people
9:27
in cookie boxes. You're going to bring
9:29
them to cookie exchanges. Y'all, what a
9:32
cool way to say what these cookies are.
9:35
crumble copycat. Right here's the big
9:38
one right here. That's the full size.
9:42
And then we have the minis, which I
9:46
think I'm going to take a bite of right
9:47
now for you.
9:58
It's nice and crispy on the outside,
10:01
kind of fudgy on the inside, kind of
10:03
cakey.
10:05
Wow. I like how thick and dense that is
10:07
on the inside. It's really good.
10:11
What do y'all think? Which one are you
10:13
going to make? The fulls size or the
10:14
minis?
10:16
All right. This recipe can be found in
10:19
my desserts cookbook right here. Or you
10:23
can go to my website,
10:25
kathernisplates.com, and find the recipe
10:27
there with many, many more cookie
10:29
recipes. There's tons of them. Go check
10:32
it out. All right, you guys. I think
10:35
Thomas is gonna take a fullsize one.
10:38
Heck yeah.
10:39
He loves crumbled cookies.
10:42
It is so rich in chocolate, let me tell
10:44
you. That cocoa powder and the chocolate
10:46
chips blended together.
10:50
That's a good cookie, you guys. Wasn't
10:52
that hard to make? All right, give me a
10:55
thumbs up. Merry Christmas to everybody.
