Good morning everyone. It is early early
0:03
morning and I want to show y'all how to
0:06
make a Denver omelette egg bites. Now,
0:10
this is more for my daughter who likes
0:12
to take PopTarts and honey buns to work
0:15
cuz it's the fastest thing for her to do
0:17
to get to work on time. But, right,
0:20
she's looking for more nutritious ways
0:23
to clean up her diet. So, we're going to
0:26
make these in Denver omelets. They're so
0:29
delicious. It's the most popular
0:31
omelette out there. So, let's make them
0:34
mini size.
0:36
All right, let's start by cracking six
0:38
to seven eggs into a large bowl. I'm
0:41
going to be doing seven eggs cuz that
0:43
emptied out my egg carton.
0:54
Three.
0:57
Woo! Get that shell out of there.
1:05
Now, to give it some extra protein to
1:07
get her through her day and us through
1:09
the day, we're going to add some cottage
1:12
cheese, like half a cup. Now, if you're
1:14
not a fan of cottage cheese,
1:17
you can do heavy whipping cream or you
1:19
can do regular milk.
1:23
Here we go. She likes cottage cheese.
1:29
All right, let's season this up. Got to
1:31
give it some flavor. We're going to add
1:33
in some salt.
1:37
About a/4 of a teaspoon. The ham's going
1:40
to have some salt in it, and so is the
1:42
cheese that we're going to be using.
1:44
About an eighth of a teaspoon of black
1:46
pepper. Unless you like it, then you can
1:49
add more. I'm definitely going in with
1:52
garlic powder
1:55
and onion powder.
2:01
Get you a whisk. Whisk it up.
2:06
Make sure it's nice and fluffy until
2:08
it's well incorporated.
2:12
We're going to take a standard size
2:14
muffin tin and you want to spray this
2:16
very well with some cooking spray.
2:23
We're going to spray it. Then I'm going
2:24
to go back over it with a brush to make
2:26
sure everything is coated on the bottom,
2:30
in the sides, in the corners.
2:34
You want these things to pop out.
2:37
And I was just using some avocado oil.
2:40
You can use olive oil spray. You can put
2:42
some butter in there. Melt some butter
2:44
and do that.
2:47
There we go. Make sure it's all nice and
2:49
incorporated.
2:52
Now, I'm using this diced ham. It's
2:55
frics.
2:57
And I just have some in a bowl here. And
2:59
what I'm going to do is put some of this
3:02
in the bottom of each muffin tin. Some
3:05
recipes call you just mix everything
3:07
together with your eggs, but
3:10
I want every cup to get the equal
3:12
amount.
3:19
make these nice and yummy.
3:22
Now, if you're not a fan of the Denver
3:25
omelette and you like bacon in your
3:27
bites or you like sausage, you want to
3:30
make sure that whatever meat you're
3:32
using is fully cooked cuz it won't be in
3:35
the oven very long to cook your meat.
3:37
So, it's got to be cooked first. And you
3:41
can change these up, too. You can do
3:42
like half of them ham, half of them
3:44
cooked sausage, or you can do bacon.
3:48
You know, if you got people in your
3:49
house that like different things, well,
3:51
you can do that. You want to change it
3:53
up for the week and have different ones
3:55
that you can grab. Now, you got to love
3:57
when you make things at home because you
3:59
know what's in them. You can go to
4:01
Starbucks and grab these, but oh boy,
4:03
the cost of that when this is simple and
4:07
makes a lot of them. All right, we've
4:10
got the ham in.
4:12
Now, another component of a Denver
4:14
omelette are the peppers and onions.
4:17
Now, I've already got a bowl here that
4:19
I've already got really small diced up
4:21
peppers and onions, and we'll sprinkle
4:22
those on top of the ham.
4:32
Now, what's great about this, the
4:34
peppers are are green that I'm using.
4:38
They got red, they've got orange,
4:40
they've got yellow. So, you can just do
4:42
a whole combination of colors here.
4:46
You can also do mushrooms. It's another
4:48
favorite in an omelette, right? You can
4:50
chop those up really, really small to
4:52
add to this. You can sauté those up a
4:55
little bit if you want. All right, we
4:57
got them all filled up here.
5:01
All right, let's talk about the cheese.
5:03
I'm using sharp cheddar cheese. That's
5:05
going to add a great flavor and it's not
5:08
going to add all those preservatives
5:09
because we're going to shred our own.
5:13
Oh, nice and fresh. Look at that. Yeah.
5:20
Minus that one piece.
5:23
Somebody came down for breakfast.
5:25
What do you think?
5:28
Look at that, you guys. All right. About
5:30
half a block right here. 4 ounces. We're
5:32
going to sprinkle some right on top.
5:35
like to fill the cups up first before we
5:37
put the eggs in. That way you know
5:39
everything is balanced and evened out
5:42
and somebody doesn't get all the ham.
5:44
Right.
5:51
You can use any type of cheese you want.
5:53
Monterey Jack would be a good one.
5:57
If you want the milder flavor of
5:59
cheddar, you can do that also.
6:01
Oh, look how fresh these look.
6:05
All right. You're just going to take a
6:07
scoop, whatever you can find. This is
6:08
kind of like an ice cream scoop, and I'm
6:11
going to take some of that mixture,
6:14
and we're going to fill up the cups.
6:18
Now, you don't want to go all the way
6:19
over the top of them, okay? Cuz these
6:21
will puff up.
6:24
We're just going to keep stirring to
6:25
make sure that cottage cheese is in
6:27
there good.
6:32
And it'll get down there. Don't worry
6:33
about that.
6:40
And if you have leftovers, just build
6:42
where you need to,
6:45
y'all. It needs a pop of color. I got
6:47
some green onion. We'll just sprinkle
6:49
some on top.
6:53
Add a nice little flavor.
6:57
Y'all let me know what you want to put
6:58
into your egg bites. I love the Denver
7:01
omelette style, but I like lots of
7:04
different styles also. I think that
7:06
looks good. All right, make sure you
7:08
wipe off the top of your muffin tin in
7:10
case you have any extra oil from
7:12
spraying your tin because you don't want
7:13
it to go into your oven. All right, I've
7:15
got my oven preheated at 350°.
7:18
We're going to bake these for about 18
7:21
to 22 minutes until they're nice and
7:23
puffy and cooked through.
7:26
I cannot wait. Don't those look
7:28
delicious? All right, we're going to let
7:31
these rest for just a few minutes, pop
7:33
them out, and then I'm going to give
7:34
them a try for you. I want y'all to see
7:36
how easy these pop out. Look at that. M.
7:42
[Music]
7:43
All right, let's plate these up. All
7:46
right, y'all. I want to show y'all.
7:48
M. Look at that.
7:53
Nice and cooked on the inside. There's
7:55
all of your ingredients.
7:58
It's nice and cheesy, fluffy.
8:02
I'm going to take a bite for you.
8:05
Denver omelette egg bites.
8:14
That's delicious.
8:20
The perfect bite.
8:23
Give me a thumbs up on this one. Give me
8:26
two of them if you can.

8:34
one here are posted. What a great
8:37
breakfast. Rihanna's going to love
8:38
these. I hope she makes her own and does
8:41
all kinds of things with these egg
8:42
bites. All right, you guys. Remember,
8:46
you can freeze these. Also, cool these
8:48
down completely. Put them in a Ziploc
8:49
bag and put them in the freezer. You can
8:51
individually portion them if you want to
8:53
do that. Pop them in the microwave for
8:55
about 60 to 90 seconds to kind of heat
8:58
through to the center and enjoy your egg
9:00
bites. All right, you guys. I'll see
9:02
y'all on the next episode. Bye.
