Ingredients

  • 5 TBS butter
  • 20 original Oreo cookies, broken into large pieces
  • 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup light brown sugar

To make self-rising flour for this recipe: whisk together 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 1/4 tsp baking powder, and 1/2 tsp salt.

  • Break Oreo cookies into 4 pieces each and place all over melted butter to cover in a single layer.
  • In a medium mixing bowl whisk flour. Add in white granulated sugar, vanilla and milk. Stir until batter forms. (Don't over mix.)
  • Dollop batter all over the broken cookies in baking dish. Sprinkle brown sugar over the batter. Pour hot water over the brown sugar & batter.
  • Bake for 35 minutes in 350 degree oven. Allow to rest on stovetop for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy with ice cream or whipped topping.
