Oreo Cobbler

Ingredients
- 5 TBS butter
- 20 original Oreo cookies, broken into large pieces
- 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
- 1 cup white granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups hot water
To make self-rising flour for this recipe: whisk together 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 1/4 tsp baking powder, and 1/2 tsp salt.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place 5 TBS butter around 9 x 13 baking dish. Place in oven and allow butter to melt. Remove from oven. (Keep an eye on butter, you don't want it to get brown.)
- Break Oreo cookies into 4 pieces each and place all over melted butter to cover in a single layer.
- In a medium mixing bowl whisk flour. Add in white granulated sugar, vanilla and milk. Stir until batter forms. (Don't over mix.)
- Dollop batter all over the broken cookies in baking dish. Sprinkle brown sugar over the batter. Pour hot water over the brown sugar & batter.
- Bake for 35 minutes in 350 degree oven. Allow to rest on stovetop for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy with ice cream or whipped topping.
