Author Catherine's Plates

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 2 cans cream of soup (I used cream of mushroom and cream of celery)
  • 1 1/2 cups cracker crmbs (I used saltine crackers. You can use ritz crackers or bread crumbs)
  • 2 cups milk; divided
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 TBS butter
  • 1/2 tsp garlic power
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ceyenne pepper (if desire)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 TBS parsley
  • 1/2 tsp italian seasoning

Instructions

  • In a large bowl mix together ground beef, cracker crumbs, 1 cup milk and seasonings (garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, ceyenne, and Italian seasoning).
  • Form mixture into oval shaped patties.
  • In a medium shallow bowl whisk 1 cup flour, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp pepper together.
  • In a large skillet on medium high heat 1 TBS oil and 1 TBS butter and bring to a sizzle.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Dredge meat patties into flour coating all sides and place into skillet. Brown meat on each side for 3-4 minutes each side. (note: you don't have to fully cook patties, they will finish cooking in oven.)
  • Place browned meat patties into a casserole dish.
  • In a medium bowl, add 2 cans of cream of soup (whichever flavor you would like to use), 1 cup of milk, 1 TBS parsley and whisk together. Pour over the meat patties in casserole dish. Cover dish with foil and place into preheated oven for 30-40 minutes until patties are cooked through. Enjoy.
