Sausage Gravy

Ingredients

  • 1 lb breakfast pork sausage (I use jimmy dean bulk sausage)
  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 3-4 cups milk
  • 1 tsp dried sauge
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • In a large skillet or cast iron skillet, break up and brown sausage over medium heat. Reduce heat and add flour. Stir for one minute to cook rawness out of flour.
  • Pour in milk and stir until thickened. (Start with 3 cups and add additional one cup if needed depending on the desired thickness.) Add salt & pepper to taste.

  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 3-4 cups milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • In large skillet, brown sausage over medium high.  Reduce heat to medium low and add flour.  Continually stir for one minute to cook the raw flour taste out.  Pour in milk until it thickens.  Add seasonings to taste.  Stir to combine.
