Equipment

  • large skillet
  • 6 quart crockpot/slow cooker

Ingredients

  • 4-6 thin pork chops
  • salt & black pepper
  • 3 TBS cooking oil
  • 1 pkt lipton dry onion soup mix
  • 10 oz beef broth
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • fresh parsley, garnish

Instructions

  • Heat 3 TBS of cooking oil in a large deep skillet over medium high heat until it starts to shimmer.
  • Salt & pepper both sides of pork chops. Using a fork or a meat tenderizer, poke holes into pork chops.
  • Place pork chops into hot oil and sear for 3-4 minutes until golden brown on one side. Flip pork chops over and cook an additional 3-4 minutes until golden brown on other side.
  • Remove seared pork chops to a plate and set aside. Sear remaining pork chops and remove from pan. Turn off burner.
  • In bottom of crockpot whisk together lipton onion soup mix and beef broth.
  • Place 1 TBS of brown sugar onto each pork chop and smooth evenly. Sprinkle minced garlic onto the brown sugar.
  • Place pork chops into crockpot on top of the soup mixture.
  • Place lid on crockpot. Cook on high for 3 1/2 -4 hours or on low for 6-7 hours. It all depends on the size of the pork chops. Make sure they are fork tender before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
