Smoked Sausage Boursin Cheese Pasta Skillet

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 16 oz box uncooked farfalle or bow tie pasta (or other favorite pasta)
  • 2 TBS butter
  • 1 (14oz) pkg smoked sausage cut into 1/2" rounds
  • 1/2 medium green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 medium red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 5.2 oz package bursin cheese
  • 1 cup shaved parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • In a large pot bring water & chicken broth to a boil. Add uncooked pasta and cook until pasta is tender. (Use time directions on back of pasta package.) DO NOT DRAIN PASTA. Turn off burner and allow to rest.
  • In the meantime, in a large deep skillet over medium high heat, melt 2 TBS butter. Add in sliced sausage, and chopped onions and bell peppers. Saute until sausage is browned on both sides, and onions & bell peppers are softened and lightly browned.
  • Stir in minced garlic & salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika for 1 minute.
  • Stir in 1 cup chicken broth/water liquid from cooked pasta. Bring to a simmer. add in boursin cheese and stir until melted.
  • Add in parmesan cheese and the cooked pasta, draining remaining broth before adding pasta. Stir to combine and allow to rest for 5 minutes.
