I remember growing up eating swiss steak. The best part was the tomato, beefy sauce it made. I would pour this all over homemade mashed potatoes. I love that you can put peppers and onions in it and they were so soft. Truly Simple, Easy, and Delicious.
Swiss Steak in a Crock Pot
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs round steak or cube steak
- 1 1/2 cans Beef Broth
- 2 cans dice tomatoes 14 oz each
- 1 green pepper sliced
- 1 Onion sliced
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt & Pepper
- Flour to dredge
Instructions
- In crock pot, place tomatoes, peppers, onions, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt & pepper. Mix well.
- Season steaks on both sides with flour, salt and pepper. Place in a hot frying pan with olive oil and sear on both sides about 2-3 minutes each side.
- Place the steaks in crock pot, sink into the mixture.
- Cook on high 5-6 hours or on low 8-9 hours.
- Serve and Enjoy.
