The Best Cookie Bars - 5 Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 (18 oz) roll package refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
  • 16 oz semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 16 oz caramel sauce
  • 3 cups rice chex cereal or rice krispies cereal
  • 1 cup roasted peanuts

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Evenly spread cookie dough in a 9x13 baking dish. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and firm. Let cool for 15-20 minutes.
  • In a medium saucepan on medium heat, place 1/2 (8oz) of chocolate chips and 1/2 (8oz) caramel sauce. Stir until chocolate chips are melted and combined with caramel. Turn heat off and add the cereal and peanuts and mix until all coated. Pour mixture over the baked cookie in the baking dish and spread evenly. (This step needs to happen quickly as it will set up fast.)
  • In the same saucepan over medium heat place the other 1/2 of the chocolate chips and the caramel sauce and mix until melted and combined.
  • Spread evenly over the cereal mixture. Refrigerate for 30 minutes until chocolate mixture is set. Cut into small squares and enjoy.
