Barbecue Spare Ribs In A Crock Pot

Equipment

  • cutting board & sharp knife
  • 6 quart crockpot
  • small bowl & whisk
  • deep sheet pan lined with foil
  • tongs & spatula

Ingredients

  • 3-4 LBS Pork Spare Ribs
  • salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika
  • 2 Cups barbecue sauce I used Sweet Baby Rays
  • 2 TBS brown sugar
  • 3 TBS minced garlic
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 TBS ceyenne pepper
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Remove inner skin from spare ribs and discard, if necessary. Spray the inside of crock pot with a cooking spray. Season generously the fronts & backs of the spare ribs with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Place ribs into crock pot. (Cut into sections to fit in crockpot.)
  • Combine barbecue sauce, brown sugar, garlic, Worcestershire sauce and ceyenne pepper in a bowl.
  • Slather sauce onto the ribs to coat.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 -9 hours or on high for 4 -5 hours.
  • Once they are falling off the bone & tender, remove and place onto a foil lined deep baking sheet.
  • Preheat oven on Broil or 450 degrees.
  • Slather sauce from crockpot onto the ribs.
  • Broil in preheated oven for 10 minutes or until ribs begin to char on the ends.
  • Serve and enjoy!
