Ingredients
1lblean ground beef
1mediumyellow onion, diced
1pkttaco seasoning or 3 TBS homemade or jarred taco seasoning
2cupshot water
1TBSminced dried onion
1/4cupTaco Bell mild taco sauce
1TBStomato paste
1tspsugar (optional)
4 hamburger buns, lightly toasted in oven
diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, extra taco sauce
Instructions
In a large skillet over medium heat, break up and brown ground beef until no longer pink. Add in onion and cook until softened. DRAIN excess grease out.
Add in taco seasoning, taco sauce, minced onion, tomato paste, sugar, and 2 cups hot water. Stir to combine. Bring to a boil over high heat.
Lower heat to a medium and simmer for 15 minutes until liquid has dissipated.
Toast buns in oven. Spoon mixture over bottom bun, top with cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato. Place top bun on and enjoy.
