Cheesy Italian Meatball Bites Appetizer

Equipment

  • 12 cup muffin tin, standard size

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ct) tube crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 jar marinara sauce (your favorite) (DIVIDED)
  • 4 oz shredded mozzarella cheese (DIVIDED)
  • 12 frozen homestyle cooked meatballs
  • Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray a 12 cup standard muffin tin pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Roll out crescent dough onto a non-stick clean work surface. (If you are using the triangles, pinch together all seams to create 1 rectangle shape. Use a rolling pin to roll over dough to make sure seams are closed. DO NOT Roll dough out thinner, keep original size.)
  • Cut dough into 12 equal pieces. Place each piece of dough into the muffin tins and press to the bottom and sides.
  • Place 2 tsp marinara sauce on top of the dough in the muffin tins. Place 1 tsp of mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce. Sprinkle a little Italian seasoning on top. Place 1 frozen meatball on top of the cheese.
  • Place 1 tsp of marinara sauce over the meatball. Top with a small mound of shredded mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle with more Italian seasoning.
    Place muffin tin pan on a sheet pan. Place in preheated oven for 15-18 minutes until crescent dough is cooked through and browned. Meatballs should be heated through.
  • Let meatball bites sit in muffin tin for 5 minutes before removing to a serving dish.
