Equipment

  • 12" cast iron skillet or 9"x13" baking dish
  • cutting board & sharp knife
  • large mixing bowl
  • spatula
  • ice cream scoop
  • small bowl
  • whisk

Ingredients

  • 1 (8oz) tube refrigerated pillsbury crescent dough triangles (8 ct)
  • 3 cups shredded cooked rotisserie chicken, diced
  • 1 (6oz) box stove top stuffing-chicken flavor
  • 1 (14.5oz) can chicken broth
  • 8oz shredded swiss cheese
  • 1 (10.5oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp (each) opt (garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 12" cast iron skillet or 9 x 13 baking dish.
NOTE: Almost any type of oven-safe dish will work. I've even used a large round pie pan.
  • Unroll crescent roll dough and pull apart the triangles. Arrange into prepared skillet with the short side 2/3 of the way into skillet. The tip will be hanging outside of dish.
Overlap remaining triangles of dough to create a circle shape inside the skillet with an empty center. Flatten the inside dough evenly.
NOTE: in rectangular shape dish place 3 flat edge of triangles on each long side of dish and place 1 flat edge of triangles on the short edge of dish to create a rectangular shape.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix together cooked rotisserie chicken, stuffing, cheese, and broth. Place large scoops evenly onto the flattened dough portion in skillet.
NOTE: you can use other type of cooked seasoned chicken.
  • Bring the tip of dough from the outside and pull over the stuffing mixture in the skillet tucking under the flattened dough on bottom. (You should still see an empty circle inside.
  • In small bowl whisk together cream of soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Pour mixture around the outside of the crescent ring and in the empty space on the inside of crescent ring.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 18-24 minutes until crescents are golden brown and cooked through the tops & bottoms. Cheese should be melted too. Enjoy.
