9 x 13 baking dish
skillet
- 1 lb uncooked seasoned pork sausage (I use Jimmy Dean Pork Sausage)
- 1 (8oz) pkg cream cheese, softened and cut into pieces
- 2 (8 ct) cans crescent roll dough (original)
- optional (1 egg)
- optional (salt & pepper)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a skillet over medium high heat brown sausage. Season with salt & pepper if needed.
Turn down heat to medium low. Add in cream cheese and stir until melted into the sausage.
Spray 9 x 13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Unroll one package of crescent roll dough and place flat on bottom of prepared baking dish going up the sides about 1/4 of an inch. (Pinch closed any perforated edges.)
Spread sausage and cream cheese mixture crescent dough evenly leaving 1/2 inch border around the bottom.
Unroll 2nd package of crescent roll dough and place on top of sausage mixture. Pinch closed any perforated edges. Press edges of top dough to bottom dough to seal together.
Optional for more of a golden brown color on top, whisk one egg and brush all over top crescent dough.
Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until cooked through and golden brown. Allow to rest for a couple of minutes. Cut into squares.
