Crockpot Italian Sausages & Peppers
A delicious Crockpot recipes packed full of Italian flavor perfect for a Hoagie Sandwich or served over your favorite pasta.

Crockpot/Slow Cooker

- 1 package Italian Sweet Sausages (4-5 in a pack)
- 4-5 bell peppers sliced thick (Use any variety of colors, I used yellow, red, orange, and green. So colorful.
- 1-2 medium yellow, white, or red onion sliced thick
- 1 jar favorite pasta sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 TBS butter
- 2 TBS cooking oil
- fresh parsley as a garnish
Sandwich Pasta
- 4 buns cut 3/4 through
- 2 TBS softened butter
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- favorite pasta cooked
Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add oil and heat. Place sausages in hot oil and cook on all sides until browned. (We are not cooking all the way through at this time.) Should take 2-3 minutes each side to sear and lock in delicious flavor.
Place the browned sausages into bottom of crockpot.
In same skillet over medium high heat, add butter and allow to melt. Place in peppers and onions. Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning and garlic powder. Cook peppers and onions until lightly browned. Turn off burner.
Stir in pasta sauce and 1/4 cup of water.
Pour peppers, onions and pasta sauce mixture over the sausages in the crockpot. Stir to allow sausages to submerge into sauce.
Place lid on crockpot and allow to cook for 3-4 hours on high or 6-7 hours on high until sausages are cooked through and peppers and onions are softened.
