Butter a 9x13 baking dish.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Lay out crescent rolls in their triangular shapes.
Place a piece of apple on the large end of crescent roll and roll it to the tip. Pinch the sides closed.
Place into baking dish.
In sauce pan, melt together butter, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla until it thickens nicely.
Remove from heat.
Pour mixture over all dumplings.
Pour the 7-up down the sides and middle of baking dish, careful not to pour over the dumplings, as that will wash away the sauce on top.
Bake for 35-45 minutes until a golden brown color.
