In an 8x8 backing dish repare brownies per instructions on back of box, all the way through the cooking stage and allow to cool.
In a large microwave safe bowl, place chocolate chips and butter. Heat on high for 15-30 seconds, stir, and repeat until you have a smooth mixture.
Add cream cheese in chunks. Beat with a hand mixer until mixed well.
Add confectioners sugar 1/2 cup at a time until nicely combined.
Add in 1/2 of the whipped topped and using a spatula fold into mixture carefully as to not flatten the mixture.
Spread mixture over cooled brownies. Refrigerate for 4 hours to overnight.
eCut into squares first then top with remaining cool whip and garnish with extra chocolate chips.
