large mixing bowl
sheet pans
cooling rack
- 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 stick butter, melted (1/2 cup)
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup candy corns
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or spray with non-stick cooking spray.
In a large bowl mix together both sugars. Add in melted butter, vanilla and egg. Stir until combined.
Sift in flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir until combined.
Mix in chocolate chips and candy corns.
Scoop onto prepared baking pans. Bake for 8-10 minutes until cookies are lightly browned on edges.NOTE: Some of the candy corns will melt onto sheet pan and harden during cooling down time. This is fine. After cookies come out of the oven, place additional candy corns and chocolate chips on hot cookie. Allow cookies to rest on pan for 5 minutes or so to set up. Remove cookies from pan and cool completely on a wire cooling rack.
