Equipment

  • 1 Medium sauce pan
  • 1 small sauce pan
  • parchment paper
  • non-stick cooking spray

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 ct) Dinner Rolls or Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  • 1 lb turkey breast deli meat
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 (2.8) oz bag bacon pieces
  • 12 slices tomato

Cheese Sauce

  • 3 TBS butter
  • 3 TBS flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • pinch nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Butter Topping

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 TBS Stone Ground Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • salt & pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Spray with non-stick cooking spray a 9 x 13 baking. Line with parchment paper, and spray the parchment with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
  • In a medium sauce pan melt butter over medium heat. Sprinkle in flour and whisk in with butter for 2 minutes. Slowly add in milk and keep whisking over medium high heat until starts to thicken. Lower heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Turn off heat and remove from burner. Allow to rest while building the sliders.
  • Cut the dinner rolls lengthwise and place bottom of rolls into prepared baking dish. Layer with 1/2 lb of the turkey evenly across the rolls.
Layer the cheddar cheese slices over the turkey evenly. Sprinkle with cooked bacon pieces over the cheese. Top with tomato slices an even layer.
  • Pour cheese sauce over tomatoes and spread evenly. Top with rest of deli turkey slices. Place the tops of the buns on top of the turkey to resemble tiny sandwiches.
  • In a small sauce pan whisk together, butter, mustard, worcestershire sauce, salt & pepper. Using a basting brush cover the tops of the buns with butter mixture.
  • Cover baking dish with non-stick foil and place in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 5 minutes to fully melt cheese slices.
  • Let sit for 5 minutes, then cut into slider portions.
