Ingredients
1lbground beef
1mediumhead cabbage, cut into strips
1mediumyellow onion, diced
3clovesgarlic, minced
4TBSlow sodium soy sauce
2TBSsesame oil
2TBSrice vinegar
1tspground ginger
1/4tspred pepper flakes (optional)
1/4tsp (each)salt & black pepper ( to taste)
1/2tsp (each)garlic powder & onion powder
2green onions, sliced (garnish)
sesame seeds (garnish)
Instructions
In large deep skillet break up and brown ground beef over medium high heat until no longer pink and cooked through. Drain excess grease.
Add in onion and cook until onions are softened 3-4 minutes.
Add in minced garlic. Stir for 1 minute to release aromas.
Stir in shredded cabbage. Sautee until slightly wilted about 5 minutes.
In a small bowl whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ground ginger, red pepper flakes (opt), garlic powder, onion powder, and salt & pepper (to taste).
Stir sauce into cabbage mixture and cook an additional 2-3 minutes until cabbage is tender. Taste for additional salt & pepper, if needed.
Garnish with green onions and/or sesame seeds before serving, if desired.
