- 1 TBS cooking oil
- 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
- 1.5 lbs ground beef
- 1 TBS minced garlic
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
- 4 cups beef broth
- 16 oz frozen homestyle noodles or (8 oz other uncooked pasta)
- 3 oz fresh spinach or optional broccoli
In a large deep skillet over medium high add 1 TBS cooking oil & saute onion until softened. Break up ground beef into cooked onion and cook until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
Stir in garlic, salt & black pepper. Stir in flour for 1 minute until ground beef mixture is fully coated.
Stir in Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, and 2 cups of beef broth. Bring to a boil over high heat. Season with additional salt & pepper, if needed. Add in frozen noodles and stir until coated. Pour 1 cup of beef broth on top of mixture. Lower heat and simmer until noodles are cooked through and sauce has thickened.NOTE: add additional 1 cup of broth, if needed during the cooking process.NOTE: lift lid during cooking and stir to keep noodles from sticking in skillet. NOTE: if you are using uncooked dry egg noodles or other type of pasta, only use 8 oz as it will expand during cooking process. It will take a little longer time to get tender so keep additional liquid handy.
Stir in fresh spinach until wilted. If using broccoli, add during the simmering process to soften up.
