- 1 TBS butter
- 1 TBS cooking oil
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 yellow onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper diced
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 TBS dried Italian Seasoning
- 1 (24oz) jar of favorite marinara sauce + 1 jar of water
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 16 oz uncooked spaghetti or other type of pasta
In a large skillet over medium high heat add butter, oil, onion, and bell pepper. Season with salt & pepper (1/8 tsp each). Cook until onion and peppers are softened.
Break up ground beef into onions and peppers and cook until ground beef is cooked through and no longer pink. Drain excess grease if needed.
Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add in Italian seasoning, marinara sauce, 1 jar of water, and chicken broth. Stir and bring to a boil over high heat. Stir in uncooked pasta and cook for 5 minutes. Lower heat, place lid on and cook an additional 10 minutes or so until pasta is cooked through and tender. (NOTE: stir mixture a few times during cooking process to ensure pasta doesn't stick to bottom of skillet and you have enough liquid level.
Turn off burner and allow to rest for a few minutes. Enjoy.
