Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Lay the puff pastry on a floured surface and roll out to smooth edges.
Slice the pastry into 16 strands about 1/2 inch thick.
Begin wrapping the pastry around the asparagus (if large asparagus, use one; if small asparagus, use 3). Place onto baking sheet evenly spaced.
Brush egg onto puff pastry and sprinkle with salt and sesame seeds.
Bake for 20 minutes until the pastry is golden.
Remove and serve.
