Shepherd's Pie with a Twist

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 onion, diced
- 12 oz frozen vegetables I used corn, green beans, peas and carrots
- 1 TBS Worcestershire sauce
- 2 TBS flour
- 2 TBS butter
- 1 TBS oil
- 1 can beef broth
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 bag frozen tater crowns or tots, thawed
- salt & pepper, to taste
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Heat oil in a skillet. Add ground beef and brown thoroughly. Drain and set aside.
In the same skillet melt butter. Add flour. Stir and cook for 2 minutes. Whisk in Worcestershire sauce and beef broth gradually. Cook foe 1-2 minutes until sauce thickens.
Add meat mixture back in. Add thawed vegetables and combine well.
Place in a 9x13 baking dish. Place tater crowns or tots on top of mixture in a layer.
Place in preheated oven for 20-30 minutes until taters are cooked through and crisp.
