1 large deep skillet
1 large sheet pan
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1/2 yellow onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup sweet baby colored peppers, diced
- salt & pepper, to taste
- 1 TBS minced garlic
- 1 (10.5) oz can cream of celery soup
- 1 (10.5) oz can cheddar cheese soup
- 2 tsp Worcestershire
- 1 loaf french bread
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
In a large skillet over medium high heat brown up ground beef until no longer pink and drain excess grease. Add in onions and peppers. Saute until softened. Stir in garlic for 1 an additional minute.
Stir in soups and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt & pepper to taste. Turn off burner.
Slice bread loaf in half lengthwise for 2 equal parts. Take a fork and scoop out center of bread breaking into pieces. Place 1/2 of the crumbled bread pieces into the meat mixture and stir to combine. NOTE: Save rest of bread crumbles for croutons or bread crumbs. Set the 2 halves of bread on a lined sheet pan. Scoop 1/2 of the meat mixture into the bottom part of the bread loaf. Sprinkle meat mixture with cheese. Place the top of the bread loaf on top of the cheese to form a sandwich.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10-15 minutes until cheese has melted. Remove from oven and allow to rest 5 minutes. Slice in half using a serrated knife, then cut those in half. NOTE: this is a loose meat sandwich, so bring a fork for this one. It's delicious.
