sheet pans
wire rack
large skillet
- 1 bag Frozen Dinner Rolls
- non-stick cooking spray
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (semi sweet)
- heavy whipping cream
Place parchment on a large sheet pan. Place Frozen Dinner Rolls on prepared pan spaced out by 1 1/2 - 2 inches apart. Spray top of each dinner roll with non-stick cooking spray lightly. Cover rolls with plastic wrap. Allow to rise for 3-5 hours.NOTE: you will need 2 rolls each to make 1 donut. After Dinner Rolls have risen, take 1 roll and place on top of another roll on a cutting board. Smash together in a circular shape. Poke a hole in the center of the dough with your finger and pull dough to form a donut shape. Place onto a parchment covered sheet pan. Once all rolls are shaped, cover with plastic wrap for 30 minutes.
Heat 3 inches of oil in a large pot to medium high or 350 degrees. Place donuts in 2 at a time. Fry for 30 seconds to a minute until golden brown on the bottom. Carefully flip donuts over and fry another 30 seconds to 1 minute until golden brown on all sides.Remove donuts and place on a wire rack on a sheet pan lined with foil. Finish frying rest of donuts. In a medium sauce pan over medium heat, stir heavy whipping cream and chocolate chips until smooth.
Spoon chocolate icing onto tops of donuts. Enjoy.
