7up Lime Jello Salad

A delicious No Bake, Vintage Dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 6 oz box lime jello
  • 6 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups 7up soda
  • 16 oz cool whip or other whipped topping
  • 10 oz canned crushed pineapple, drained
  • 12 maraschino cherries, drained
  • 1 canister spray whipped topping

Instructions

  • Heat water to boiling on stove top. Pour boiling water into large mixing bowl. add in jello and stir for 2 minutes until all sugars from jello have dissolved.
  • Add the softened cream cheese to hot jello and blend together with electric hand mixer until smooth.
  • Stir in 7up. Chill in refrigerator for 1 – 1 1/2 hours to soft set.
  • Remove from refrigerator and fold in cool whip. Stir in drained crushed pineapple.
  • Pour mixture into 3 quart or 9 x 13 baking dish. Chill in refrigerator for 3 hours until firm.
  • Decorate with spray whipped topping and cherries.

    We also add chopped pears and the juice from the can plus the amount of water called for and fold in real whipped cream!
