

Apple Dapple Cake
Perfect Classic Fall Baking Dessert with apples, spice, nuts, and a sweet buttery topping.
Equipment
- bundt pan
- non-stick cooking spray
- medium mixing bowl
- whisk
- sifter
- large mixing bowl
- measuring spoons & cups
- spatula
- cutting board & sharp knife
- small sauce pan
- skewer, toothpick or fork
Ingredients
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups fresh, peeled, cored, and diced apples
- 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
Sweet Buttery Topping
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 sticks butter
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a large bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray very well.
- In a medium bowl sift flour, salt, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg together.
- In a separate large mixing bowl whisk together oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Slowly add the flour mixture into the wet ingredients while whisking together.
- Fold in nuts & diced apples until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared bundt pan and spread evenly.
- Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour until toothpick inserted into center of cake comes out clean. Remove cake from oven.
- In a small sauce pan melt butter, sugar, and milk over medium high heat. Stir for 3 minutes until sugar has melted into butter.
- Poke holes through out cake using a skewer, toothpick or fork. Slowly pour the topping all over the hot cake in bundt pan.
- Allow cake to cool before inverting cake onto a serving platter or cake dish.NOTE: run a knife along all of the edges and the tube of the bundt cake to help release cake
