

Asian Dumplings Smash Taco
A delicious easy take on Asian Dumplings using Tortillas. So Delicious.
Equipment
- large mixing bowl
- measuring spoons
- cutting board & sharp knife
- medium mixing bowl
- large skillet or a griddle
- spatula
Ingredients
Dumpling Mixture
- 1 lb pure ground pork
- 2 tsp fresh grated ginger
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 3 green onions, sliced
- 1.5 TBS soy sauce
- 1 TBS sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Taco
- 4 (6 " regular) flour tortillas
Sauce
- 3 TBS soy sauce
- 2 tsp rice vinegar
- 2 tsp chili oil (OPTIO
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp white granulated sugar
- 1/2 fresh lime squeezed (or 1 tsp lime juice)
Toppings
- fresh coleslaw (with cabbage & carrot)
- thin sliced cucumber
- cilantro
- green onions or chives
Instructions
Sauce
- Whisk sauce ingredients together in a medium bowl and set aside.
Dumpling Mixture
- In large bowl mix together dumpling ingredients together until just combined. Pat down mixture in bowl and divide mixture into 4 equal portions.
Building Taco
- Lay 4 flour tortillas out on a clean work surface.
- Place one of the portions of dumpling mixture on one of the tortillas. Spread mixture evenly from edge to edge covering the whole tortilla evenly.NOTE: repeat with remaining 3 tortillas & mixture.
Making Smash Taco
- Heat 1 tsp cooking oil onto a large skillet or a griddle on medium high heat.
- Place tacos meat side down onto hot prepared skillet and cook until pork is cooked through and golden brown on bottom.NOTE: temperature for pork should reach 145 – 160 degrees.
- Flip over tacos and cook for 1 minute until tortilla is golden & crispy.
- Remove from skillet and set on a plate.
- Top with toppings listed and drizzle sauce over taco. Fold like a taco and enjoy.Sauce can also be used a dip for the smash tacos.
