Bell Beefer TACO BELL COPYCAT Recipe

Equipment

  • cutting board & sharp knife
  • large skillet & wooden spoon
  • measuring spoons & cups

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1 pkt taco seasoning or 3 TBS homemade or jarred taco seasoning
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1 TBS minced dried onion
  • 1/4 cup Taco Bell mild taco sauce
  • 1 TBS tomato paste
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)
  • 4 hamburger buns, lightly toasted in oven
  • diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, extra taco sauce

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, break up and brown ground beef until no longer pink. Add in onion and cook until softened. DRAIN excess grease out.
  • Add in taco seasoning, taco sauce, minced onion, tomato paste, sugar, and 2 cups hot water. Stir to combine. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  • Lower heat to a medium and simmer for 15 minutes until liquid has dissipated.
  • Toast buns in oven. Spoon mixture over bottom bun, top with cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato. Place top bun on and enjoy.
