Author Catherine's Plates

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 TBS milk used for piping
  • chocolate for dipping

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large bowl cream together butter, sugar and salt until well mixed using an electric mixer or hand mixer.
  • Mix in egg yolks and vanilla.
  • Add flour and mix until it forms crumbs. Add milk. If you desire a thinner batter for piping add more milk. (If you do not plan to pipe cookie batter and only want to place batter on sheet pans, only add the 2 TBS milk.
  • Pipe dough into rounds onto ungreased baking sheets. (I used parchment paper).
  • Bake one sheet at a time in preheated oven until golden brown about 12-16 min.
  • Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to completely cool.
  • Melt chocolate chips to a smooth consistency. Dip cookies about 1/2 way and lay back on wire rack. Sprinkle sprinkles if you like. Let set.
  • Enjoy!
