Cheesy Ravioli Bake with Meat Sauce Dinner for Two
This recipe makes 2 – 4 servings. Double it up for 4-6 servings.
Ingredients
- 1 TBS cooking oil
- 1/2 medium yellow onion, diced
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 12 oz pasta sauce
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- salt & pepper, to taste
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 TBS white granulated sugar
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 24 frozen ravioli
- dried or fresh parsley for garnish.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large skillet heat oil over medium high heat. Add in diced onion and cook until softened. Add in ground beef, break it up, and brown until no longer pink.
- Drain excess grease out of skillet. Stir in garlic for 1 minute. Stir in pasta sauce, water, sugar, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder. Simmer for a few minutes, turn off heat.
- Put a large spoonful of sauce into bottom of an 8 x 11 baking dish and spread evenly. Place 12 frozen ravioli into bottom of baking dish on top of the sauce evenly on one row.
- Pour 1/2 of the meat mixture on top of the ravioli to cover evenly. Sprinkle 1/2 of the mozzarella cheese on top of the meat mixture in baking dish evenly.
- Place another 12 ravioli on top of the cheese evenly in a single layer. Spoon rest of meat mixture on top of ravioli. Sprinkle rest of mozzarella cheese on top of meat mixture.
- Cover with foil. Place in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes. Remove foil and finish baking for 15-20 minutes until cheese is golden brown and mixture is bubbling.
- Sprinkle with dried or fresh parsley. Enjoy.
